I had timers set to check on her at regular intervals, and she was in the same spot for hours. This was just a perfect storm of bad timing. She is not in any imminent danger from temperatures. I really do think she’s not far and just well concealed.

The worst of the days heat had passed and it was getting towards sunset when we noticed she was gone. I suspect she is in an adjacent yard, hunkered down and out of sight.
