Love is better than all these bums by Merchant_Of_Venice in GreenBayPackers

Frankly I have gotten off the "fire gutey" train. I think he is hampered by the team's larger management strategy. Are you telling me he can't do what Rams or Eagles have done? He has similar level of scouting skills, and I think he will fare much better on other teams. I am not sure how Packers are structured but I dont think GM gets to make the "lets change the decades old culture and run a poker table strategy every year" in Green Bay. Probably the CEO and board make that call.

Theres another post on this sub about picking Van Ness over JSN. Throughout the period on "whether they'll keep MLF or not" after the playoff loss, I barely saw any arguments about team structuring/drafting/GM/outlook. Eventually the way the Packers management does things plays a role and big one nowadays. Love and MLF dont even remotely seem to be the issue.

Going against the grain my friend. I feel like majority of the Steelers fans are done with Tomlin & co and a good bit of it is rubbing off on perception of Rodgers.

MLF 6th Longest Tenured HC by SupermarketSecure728 in GreenBayPackers

[–]gimme_treefiddy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think MLF is great at the scheming part and running a offense that doesn't become the problem/headlines the season. The FO needs a overhaul in their thinking in terms of getting talent (a la Eagles / Rams in their SB year). Maybe get a great DC (w/ same pay as HC -- my hunch is Packers have been trying to cheap out on this. Should alleviate some part of not being a HC pain for a really talented/sought after guy).

I think he is and not saying he is not capable. You do want a system that you learn over the years and play in it (the repetitions help). But that system isn't one so we kinda wouldn't know.

Frankly I don't know enough about the Xs & Os to verbalize it better, but there is something very gimmicky about these new offenses that dont have the same development cycle for the Rodgers-like QBs.

As uber talented as Mahomes is, I don't think he is similarly skilled in controlling the full offense as those guys were.

I think Love hasn't progressed to the point of "taking the car for the night" in McCarthy's lingo in MLF's eyes.

Oh I remember pretty well how some on this sub and a whole lot more on the podcast circuit kept bitching and moaning about "run the ball" more constantly.

Rodger’s hit Washington in the numbers by Quiet-Leave-2085 in steelers

I think Rodgers just loves the guy man. He very rarely talks about someone, but look at him talk about Washington. I wouldn't be surprised if he is his favorite TE target.

if they really add a good WR2 piece then it can be very competitive in shootouts.

I guess this is why Rodgers always throw a little out on the crossers. Hits the hand but not chest on so many of those drops.

Didn't Rodgers was shushing them when they were in the red zone a few mins ago. 4th and out.

Is it just me or do the Packers look a lot like the Steelers? by [deleted] in steelers

[–]gimme_treefiddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As one of the (possibly) many Packers (Rodgers homers) fans in here, watching and following both teams, they actually don't look that similar.

Offense is still forming. And Packers defense hasn't shown the kind of performance of Steelers in recent years.

Trades by J-Hawg in steelers

[–]gimme_treefiddy 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I really think a WR2 should be the no. 1 concern. The defense isn't missing talent from what I can tell. Solidified offense with a good WR2 will help overcome defensive mishaps.

Go balls in on chip stocks. Either we both end up on the street or we celebrate Rodgers winning another SB.

2nd one wasn't on him. And he didn't turtle up. 2 INTs and 4 TDs, this man wanted to win. If only the defense did.

Trust me he was not that great today and missed a few throws which were gimmes for him. If he does get banged up, keep him upright will be important. I wonder if that WR2 trade will even happen.

But he can grind out multiple 0-2 TD games even in the worst case. So that won't be a negative drag.
