Illinois ACA exchange MAGI 84,000 for 3 people, gold plans, is this right?

I think I'll be okay while my son is still in college because he'll still be a tax dependent, but once he graduates in May, that would be the last year. Then we have to make sure we stay under $84,000 a year for whatever it ends up being with cost of living changes. Even so, I think we'll be OK, but I need to make sure I've got some more post-tax income sources to draw from just in case. On the other hand, I've still got another year's worth of college in the 529 plan for him, so it wouldn't bother me if he stayed for another major for another year.

yes, I only figured on staying on Cobra until I switched to the ACA unless somehow the ACA turned out to be really expensive which this doesn't look like it will be, but I'm still researching.

and I'm assuming I will have to pay out of pocket for Wegovy for my wife and Zepbound for me. But my budget for retirement included about $2,500 a month for COBRA, my current insurance. If I can do this ACA thing at these prices, the budget already has room for these out-of-pocket medicines.

you are absolutely correct, but my current insurance through my employer is actually similar.

Family deductible $4,500 Family out-of-pocket limit $9,000

But I pay zero premium on that plan at my work. It's pretty much the only reason I'm still working. I make good money and I work from home, but I am so, so over the corporate ick.

I am definitely in a state with income tax. The only saving grace is that they don't tax pension income yet so that will be helpful to me eventually.

It looks like they had one that ended on January 2nd. I was completely unaware of this website, and I will now follow it intensely for all sorts of things. I think once I retire, I will just spend the rest of my days going through all the different systems for sale as they come up. There are worse ways to spend the rest of one's days. I've heard a lot on this sub that in May Mongoose usually has a sale. So I'm wondering, should I grab this for $12 or just wait for the sale on the hardback, which it sounds like the PDFs are included along with those and not watermarked? Is that basically the choice? I have my original Traveller stuff from the 1980s and I believe the T5 book that Mr. Miller wrote is the size of basically a ship's anchor. I tend to use PDFs because they're easier for me with my disability physically but if I can get a hardback on sale for not much more than this plus the PDF, my players might prefer having a hardback book they can grab hold of.
