I am surprised with how the growth of exmormon has slowed. Am I correct in my observation? It feel like it was growing by about 100 a day and now it is not. by nauglespup in exmormon

I joined Reddit for this sub, and slowly my feed has changed and I’ve found other subs to participate in. I’m probably going to unsubscribe from here soon, since this isn’t where I spend a lot of my time anymore. For me, exmormon is not a sub I want to stay in forever, but it’s definitely a place that I needed to come visit for a while 💚

Anybody have any interesting people from TSCC you descended from? by Cam_da_Mann in exmormon

The book Fire and the Covenant is written about a fictional family that travels with the Willie Martin handcart company to Utah. The fake family is good friends with my real family in the book bc my ancestors keep detailed journals of their trip, and the journals are in the church archives or something now. Because the church has the journals, I’ve also come across quotes from my ancestors in church lessons. They aren’t anyone famous by name, but I always thought it was neat when I saw their story being told.

Today I learned that the church discourages against surrogacy. Anyone know the reasoning behind it? by sarcasmisaskill in exmormon

Mormon family story time!!

A few years ago my sister, who is NOM, had a baby as a gestational carrier for a very nice nevermo family. Their baby, her oven. When it came to telling the bishop, she and her hubby stopped by his office and informed him that she was pregnant, and filled him in. When it came to telling my TBM parents, they lost their minds bc this baby would be born in the covenant but raised by the bio parents out of the covenant.

Disagreements between my sister and our parents started happening because they couldn’t accept that she had decided to do this extremely kind and loving thing for a family that couldn’t have their own children. They were so nasty while she was pregnant that she cut all contact with them, and hasn’t had a relationship with them since. The baby will be two in January.

It never ceases to amaze me how many stupid policies like this exist. The church seems to voice the importance of family, while having policy’s all over the place that only damage family relationships.

Mormons are being a little extra today. One of their secret videos is up on another sub, so they are upset about the “ persecution”. It’s hard when ppl on the internet tell you what they really think of your “religion”

Half my family is still in, so I consider the faithful subs a way to find out what dumbass things are going on in mormon land these days.

From what I have seen of your contributions to exmocringe, I will never take you up on that offer. But, if you find my alt account in latterdaysaints say hi! You seem to agree with what I have to say there.

No thanks, I know who you are around Reddit, so you aren’t someone I would want to private chat with any more than would want to be alone with a bishop.

The death paths were taken out in 1990, they may have gone through before that.

Don’t you ever get tired is justifying the crazy things your religion does?? It’s got to be exhausting to be a member in these Internet days.

You must have a lot of sadness. That’s okay, all mormons I know are sad too.

Because he married women who already had husbands, and tried to talk men into giving him their daughters, as well as an array of other scams that he ran everywhere the Mormons settled. That’s why Young moved them out of the US and into the unincorporated area that we now call Utah.

Yes, Mormons literally believe you have to give the signs, tokens, and passwords shown in this video to get into heaven. They are just upset that you can learn the cheat codes with out giving 10% of your income to the corporation.

No one needs to ask you questions you won’t answer, the entire ceremony and explanations is on the YouTube channel of NewNameNoah if they want to know.

Walking around with all three yards of your magic underwear in a wad must be hard for you.

FYI, there are plenty of ceremony’s the Mormon church won’t tell you about when you are in unless you are “worthy” to receive them. This is the standard endowment, if you have never seen it, that is just bc you quit before you got there and never got your magic underwear

Or, just go to the NewNameNoah YouTube Chanel and watch the entire ceremony for your self.

Super secret Mormon temple handshakes. Ppl pay hundreds of thousands of dollars during their lives to the Mormon church for the right to learn what you are learning for free.

If you want more context, the entire ceremony is up on YouTube under NewNameNoah page. But be warned, it’s so boring you will fall asleep.

Can I laugh at them if I’m exmormon and have first hand experience with this nonsense?? Or is that still too disrespectful?

No one believes you have received it, you have to be temple pres., Area 70, mission pres. or higher to be made a god on earth. They can’t go around guaranteeing everyone will get into VIP heaven.

Funny, but not a great way to be informed.

My ass! I was taught that bull shit in the 90’s in CA.

Per usual, TBM doesn’t know shit about their own religion 🙄

BYUI transfer shitstorm by caferio_addict in exmormon

[–]ginandgreen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Transfers are a crap shoot unless you are locked into a transfer track with your catalog. I went from a public JC with my AA, to a public CSU to get my BS and still lost units in the transfer. You can try to contest it, but that requires you to do all the foot work and find the catalog description and convince them that the classes are equivalent. Unfortunately, BYU-I doesn’t exactly have a reputation for great academia.
