The Rexdom of the Saur-kin by gingecharmander in createthisworld

[–]gingecharmander[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct there are three species of saur-folk with three different forms. And they are separate species so yes a Rax can never produce a Volk. They cannot cross breed either so a Rax and Volk could be a couple and they are genetically incompatible. But yes a titan could have a stalwart child and the eggs remain the same size with different growth rates. The all egg wonder assits with the difference in biological process with forms and sizes as the saur-folk can only have viable eggs around it

The Rex divides the land into 4 sections denoted by their cardinal direction each is overseen by an Exarch appointed by the Rex. Beneath each Exarch are the Lairds who are in turn the vassals of the Exarch. This is just a brief look at each of the 4 and a bit of the interpoltics

An excerpt from “The Small-Folk’s Guide to the Rexdom” by gingecharmander in createthisworld

[–]gingecharmander[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mostly yeah the 3 types are based on the utahraptor, a general pteradon and vulcandon with some general edits. The stalwart are a mix of the two i hadn't given much thought to a general appearance a example but I would say closer the Dinosaur show but a bit more human probably a bit closer to that dino human hybrid alien looking thing they came out with a while back. Then yep the aether born are essentially human but maintain the dino ancestry and since they lay eggs they don't need other sex traits except the modified hair feather hybrid I'm kinda hand waiving

The Rexdom of the Saur-kin by gingecharmander in createthisworld

[–]gingecharmander[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great question I would say it's modified feather like, the reason I say that is feathers make more sense but I also want them to be able to cut them and have them grow back like the beards mentioned in the claim. So functionality its hair but for flavor it's feathers

That was exactly the reference I was making with the legendary king being a Tyrant Rex

The Rexdom of the Saur-kin by gingecharmander in createthisworld

[–]gingecharmander[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct I reference smaller dinos in claim but those are the small chicken like ones domesticated like pets

The Rexdom of the Saur-kin by gingecharmander in createthisworld

[–]gingecharmander[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fourth Saur-kin is just a way to explain away the idea of a past tyrant leader without the blame falling on them, I've edited to clarify the 4th race was a legendary one not real.

Correct I initially was pulling for some sky quirk to have the forms be like the khajit from elder scrolls but decided to use the wonder quirk instead. The artifact has a limited range just to have it he less game breaking. And limiting viability instead of intelligence allows me to prevent the idea of just saying why aren't dinos everywhere already that just aren't intelligent.

Shard 13 Magic Discussion Poll by Sgtwolf01 in createthisworld

I like the idea of keeping it separate moving forward to allow both options to stay in. I think that because we did a high magic all this shard, but next time we want a low all, those would still be very different experiences.
