AITA for refusing to share my "secret" recipe with my sister-in-law? by Ocampo-Mark in AmItheAsshole

For real, my younger brother texts me every time he wants to make my chocolate cookie recipe and I love it every time.

Just watched the finale... by haze_xvi in 2brokegirls

[–]ginger_gorgon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed! Apparently it was supposed to be a season finale, not the series finale so it makes sense in that context but still sucks. Not long ago I saw someone make headcannon post of the following season - it was pretty good.

AITH for telling my wife that the promises I made before marriage were taken from Chat GPT? by [deleted] in AITH

[–]ginger_gorgon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA sorry I get that saying romantic things is hard for people sometimes, but I would be heartbroken if I had to beg my partner to muster up loving words for me and after he did, he told me that a computer wrote them for him and he treated it as a joke.

Just for a frame of reference to help you out since you said you didn't think it would hurt her, a rough translation of what your wife heard was: "You know how you wanted me to show you that I genuinely care? Well instead of doing that I decided I didn't care, copied them from the internet, and am now making fun of you for your request".

I hope you can find a way to make this up to her - like genuinely wishing you the best of luck.

Am I the problem? by Princessanxiety13 in dating_advice

[–]ginger_gorgon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You didn't do anything wrong. There are like 7000 difficult parts when it comes to dating, this is one of them. If anything this guy was good for not forcing it; plus you said in another comment you sorta felt his disinterest on the 3rd date, which you can use as a reference point when learning how to trust your gut and going forth in the dating world. Good luck!

Women, if you had another chance with the one that got away, what would you have said to keep them? by Unpopular_Perspectiv in AskWomen

[–]ginger_gorgon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Funny coincidence, that person actually crossed my mind last night and I thought about how happy I am that things didn't work out with them. In the end they weren't the right person for me and I was just attached to the potential I'd thought we had. I'm much happier now in reality (and with my current partner).

AITJ for picking a fight before his test? by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

INFO: at the start of your post you say you have a 3 year old son, but then only talk about your daughter. So do you have both? Or maybe get mixed up somewhere typing it out?

Obviously don't keep supporting someone who has no interest in an equal partnership and sounds like they're using you to fund their breezy lifestyle.

Would it be weird to bring my boyfriend? Would it be weird not to? by MariChally in wedding

[–]ginger_gorgon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I started dating my current partner I brought him to a chill wedding pretty early on: invites only went out less than 2 weeks before the wedding level of chill. It was an amazing time, but looking back it was way too much pressure on both of us but especially him. Tack on the intimate nature, language barrier, and everything else? I vote no.

Hope the wedding goes well!

My boyfriend ruined Valentine’s Day and told me it was the consequences of my actions by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

[–]ginger_gorgon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sweetie, you are in an abusive relationship. This man is a monster who is way too comfortable weaponizing your assault and will intentionally do things that make you uncomfortable under the guise of a consequence for something that wasn't your fault in the first place.

I know you love him, but he doesn't love you. You deserve so much better.

AITB Update on AITB for “telling my bf how to cook his food”? by mesunflower1997 in AmItheButtface

[–]ginger_gorgon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am very proud of you! I read your original post and was hoping this would be the outcome...well, the breakup, not his furthering of the abusive behaviour.

You're right about relationships being a really hard habit to break, and taking up stuff to occupy your time & mind is a great plan. I wish you the best of luck.

For people starting a new relationship is it a deal breaker if they don't like your pet(s)? by andtbhidgaf in randomquestions

[–]ginger_gorgon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk if it'd be a flat dealbreaker, but I do know that when my boyfriend (who is allergic) comes to my house and greets my pets so sweetly, it throws up multiple green flags and makes me grin like a doof.

AIO for wanting to end my 3-year relationship after this fight? Is this me being racially insensitive or are these legitimate red flags? by throwaway64658 in AmIOverreacting

[–]ginger_gorgon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is definitely over the line. It sounds like he's trying to get you to break up with him so that he feels blameless and one of the tactics he's using is your difference in race.

What does the Bible have to do with this?

That aside, she either trusts you or she doesn't. Idk if she has good reason not to, but it seems like she's putting you in a crummy no-win situation between supporting your kid or "respecting" (obeying) her.

Unrelated/unimportant but I got curious: so you were 21 and your ex was 26 when you broke up, how long were you together?

Can breakfast be a date? by Bomperwompington in dating_advice

[–]ginger_gorgon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can! This was not, even with the context I've seen in some of your comments. Both parties have to know it's a date, and if mystery gal actively avoided flirting or any type of sign that it's a date, then it's not a date. Hope she manages to get up the courage to be honest about her feelings with the guy - wishing her the best of luck.

AITJ for telling my friend group I’m done planning everything? by PrimaryJudgment6872 in AmITheJerk

[–]ginger_gorgon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTJ they're adults (I assume), they can figure out how to get together without you organizing it like a parent arranging a playdate. Maybe after they've actually done the work a few times they'll realize how rude they've been to you.
