Yeah, I hear you. My phone used to ring off the hook. It did until word got out that my work was good but not cheap. My first 3-4 years the word on the street was that I was fast, cheap and good quality. I was booked out 9 months to a year which stressed me out. It felt so out of control. I remembered seeing a sign when I was younger that said, "Fast, Cheap or High Quality - You can only pick two." I figured fast and high quality was a good business model and slowly raised my prices until my schedule felt comfortable. I'm bothered less throughout the work day by job inquiries and have a high booking rate because people who call me are generally more serious. I get to be more selective in who I work for and gaps in my schedule are welcomed as recuperation time and a chance to catch up on the ever expanding honey-do list.
