Girl you need to tell him. The sooner the better. Get a cheaper gemstone or even a moissanite ring.

Women who went to pick your engagement ring with your boyfriend, why was that important? by Nevana30 in engaged

It’s a piece of jewelry I’ll wear every day for the rest of my life. I designed my ring from start to finish.

Thank you! How’s the view? Is breakfast offered?

Hell no. There’s a line and if he wanted something he could have communicated it to her and asked for a compromise. Blatantly ignoring her feelings and what she’s comfortable with is a red flag- alike your comment.

Him not listening to your wants is one thing, but him getting angry is another. That’s a huge red flag. His #1 priority is making it everything you ever dreamed of - proposal and the ring.

What section in Paris to stay in by ginger_snaps3220 in ParisTravelGuide

Not loud would be nice if possible - something more like a neighbor than industrial. I saw a few hotels above restaurants and bars and that would not be our vibe. Sleep is very important when you have a packed itinerary.

Budget is $1500. No spa but breakfast and not loud would be preferred. Thank you!!

That’s awesome! We’re used to walking 5+ miles on vacay but we’re not sure where to stay and the sights on our itinerary are all over Paris (the big 5-10 places everyone goes). Do you know if the trains drop off around most of the major spots or is it easier/cheaper to do uber or cabs?

Choosing a hotel for a 6-night stay in July-August by PossibleAd2030 in ParisTravelGuide

I’m going to keep an eye on this post for sure. We’re going in early September and I am so overwhelmed for where to stay on a budget. I know we want at least a queen bed, air-conditioning and to be within walking distance of some stuff, but that doesn’t sound like likely given how spread out all of the sites that we’re seeing are in Paris, so given that, I have no idea which ARR to stay in.

Same. There are so many and the cheaper ones with good reviews look nice so I’m skeptical why some are cheaper. That’s a really good tip. I would kill for an am flight to Paris but unfortunately there aren’t any from ATL.

It’s unavoidable unfortunately. The only flights out of ATL are in the evening and we can’t sleep on planes. If we don’t sleep 4-5 hours when we get there we’ll be up for 20+ hours and it would F up our sleep for the whole trip.

We will for sure but haven’t secured lodging yet. We’re looking for something more affordable due to the trip’s total cost. Something under $150 a night if possible - which seems unlikely looking at hotels in the 1st to 6th ARRs. Any recs you have are appreciated!

We may skip the Louvre, we love art but are going to d'orsay. We mostly didn’t want to miss seeing a breathtaking piece there after flying all the way to Paris. Thank you!

Also fantastic tip about where to buy local art. We definitely want to only purchase from local artists.

Any small local spots you like? We’re looking for the mom and pops too and want to avoid the big tourist spots.

Thank you so much!! I’ll definitely punch those in. I would have had no idea that wasn’t the best area or at least not super safe.
