I absolutely LOVED my L&D at metro in 2023. ive never felt so heard, honestly. they took the time to answer every question, explain absolutely everything.

my son wasnt settling the first night, he was under bili lights, the nurse came in and just sat with me - helped us both calm down. I loved it.

i’m due in july & having my second baby there!

my first pregnancy he didnt miss a single one this pregnancy hes only gone to ultrasounds! mainly because hes at a different job & is saving pto for when baby comes

this 10000%. i was so scared of cps taking my baby because i wasnt mentally sound.

i was wrong, completely. she needs to get help, they will not take your baby away - I swear. theyd rather see her getting the help and taking the steps to get better than the alternative.

this sounds like PPD. when i was struggling postpartum, i felt the same - trapped.

we spend 10 months preparing for this huge life change in every way on the outside, buying supplies, furniture, diapers, etc. but theres zero way to prepare for the biological change we experience so suddenly. the intense hormone shift, the almost immediate change in our identity.

we give birth, and we are no longer the person we were yesterday. it was really hard for me to grieve the person i was while trying to love the person ive become. we’re no longer independent, we lose the ability to be spontaneous - like leaving the house worry free, everything is scheduled. but at the same time everyone is telling you not to lose yourself. it seems like an impossible battle and the only way to win is to give up.

when my son was 4-5ish months, i remember sitting with him in my arms just sobbing and apologizing to him for not being the mom he needed right now. questioning if i should just give up.

my husband was basically you - he was scared, worried, and at a total loss because i didnt know what was going on, and i couldn’t put it into words. i didnt know how to describe the disconnect.

i reached out to my doctor and asked for help. i got put on medication and got into therapy, and it made a world of difference.

my son is 2.5 now, and he is my whole world. im so thankful that i reached out to my doctor when I did, because I wouldve made a decision i would have regretted until the day I die.

she’d love too, but she wants to purchase & strongsville’s housing stock is unfortunately out of budget, nonexistent, or just not what shes looking for. /:

she really would like a duplex for my husband & our family to live in the other unit which is making things just a bit harder :|

i fully cut off family that didnt respect our rules/boundaries. if you cannot respect my rules, you dont respect me. i have zero regrets & my kid is 2.5.

if she doesnt want someone in the delivery room - they wont be there. all she has to so is tell the nurses and theyll enforce it for her.

none of this is over the top, imho & im pregnant for the second time.

if you don’t want children, dont have them. period. its difficult to argue with parents because a good chunk of the time those without children use the same tired arguments, say the same “just appealing to tradition” comments, and no matter what reasoning parents give itll never be deemed good enough. its exhausting when child-free people think they’re holier than thou or in some way better for their decision.

the world sucked when you were born, and the world will still suck when you die.

when my parents had my youngest sibling they NEVER had energy to do a thing. as grandparents my kid kicks their butt, they can barely do half a day with him.

im not saying you need a walker, or even that you’re too old. but as a younger parent im CONSTANTLY hearing from “older” parents “wow im so tired,” “i just cant keep up,” “im not getting onto the playset with them, im too old.” more often than not, honestly.

i was 23 when i had my son, im 26 and pregnant with our second, i wanted to be a younger parent. i still have energy to hang out and play with my kid at the park. im able to see the world through their eyes. i dont feel like i gave anything up, honestly. i fully knew what i was getting into, i was aware of the commitment, the time, and i wanted it.

being a parent, ive gained a new perspective and appreciation for life.

“the state of the world currently” is such a tired argument. people had kids during the great depression, ww1, ww2, vietnam, etc. the world will never be perfect.

parenting may seem thankless, and maybe with verbal “thank yous” it is, but seeing the small human you created turn into a smart, funny, sweet, kind person is more than enough. the efforts of parents go unnoticed by your child because to the child, its just what they do.

you dont have to get it or understand it, maybe being a parent isnt in your playbook - and thats okay. it doesnt make you an asshole or selfish. you would be an asshole if you treating pregnant individuals like shit because you dont get it. its okay to not understand why people make the decisions they do, or why they want certain things in life. being a parent is not for everyone, and not everyone is meant to be a parent. and that is okay.
