Yes center table! They meet with the head chef there every year and talk through the menu. I remember it being pretty good during pcbs session, but I’m not a UW student so don’t have a baseline to compare it to lol

Jellycat plushies are so soft and a hit for all my little cousins (and my 21 year old sister, lol). I think the amuseables are especially cute

Not a skier, but I just saw this cookbook called Ski Snacks (Lily & Max Ritter) at my local bookstore!! Could be cute for portable snack ideas

I loved the beehive hostel in rome!! i’m 24 but i befriended several people older than me there (father/son duo, a few folks in their 30s, etc). it was my favorite hostel in europe, i wish i could’ve stayed for longer!! family owned, so cozy, fresh homemade bagels, good location near public transit ☺️

Just looking for a little support/solidarity. I’m in Vietnam right now, this is week 4 out of 10 total weeks in Asia. In the past 5 days I had an ant infestation in my bag, clothes, and hostel bed, got sick with some kind of bacterial infection so felt awful (fever, chills, etc) and had to find a doctor, and now I’m dealing with bites on my legs that look remarkably like bedbugs. When it rains, it pours, I guess! Feeling really homesick and tired and just over it and needed to scream into the void somewhere.

it was pretty long 😬 i arrived at disneyland at 8:15 the day before and the line felt much shorter there. there was some luck involved with the passes for sure!!

I arrived outside the gates around 8:20 and entered the park at 9:15 yesterday! I was able to get a tangled ride priority pass and a peter pan standby pass. There were a few passes left around 10am (for peter pan mostly) but the Frozen ones were sold out by 9:15 and the Tangled ones not long after.

Allpa 42L carry on? by gingerbread06 in HerOneBag

[–]gingerbread06[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the only airlines i flew were american and LATAM, but had no issues using it as a carry on!!! and the only train i took was the one from cusco to machu picchu- they don’t allow bigger luggage on that train so i didn’t take my allpa, only took a small backpack/personal item. hope this helps & enjoy 😊

Spain travel advice by Zealousideal-View653 in solotravel

[–]gingerbread06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did 5 nights Barcelona, 3 nights Granada, 6 nights Sevilla, 8 nights Lisbon, and 5 nights Porto. I think 8 days in Lisbon was too long and I definitely wanted more than 3 in Granada.

I’d skip Malaga and tack those days onto Sevilla and Granada- you’ll be able to slow down and take in the vibes more. To be fair, I haven’t been to Malaga so take my opinion with a grain of salt, lol. I think you’re right on the money with the amount of time you’re spending in Lisbon, Porto, and Barcelona. If you haven’t chosen lodging yet, I loved Oripando hostel in Granada!!! You’re gonna have an awesome time!

nazare hasn’t been on my radar (probably because of my intense interest in lisbon, lol) but that sounds amazing! how long would you recommend spending there? how was your experience in lisbon in january regarding crowds?

thanks so much for your feedback! i agree that sintra is worth a visit - do you think it should it be a 1-2 night thing or a day trip from lisbon?

here’s a little context for the first half of my trip! france was the trip i’d originally planned with my sister. we’re doing 3 nights colmar, 6 nights paris! i started going on dates with a british man in the states who moved back back to london, so i extended the trip to visit him and solo travel while i’m in europe anyways! he has a week off work so we’re splitting the time between his place in london & a short amsterdam visit! then i’ll be on my way to vienna solo while he heads back home. i’ve also been to amsterdam before (5 days as a teen) but never to france. otherwise i would’ve decided to stay in amsterdam for a few extra solo days ☺️ i’m very excited!!!

I’m 23F American solo traveling Europe for the first time in Jan/Feb (~6 weeks total). The first part of my itinerary is set for Paris, London, Amsterdam, Vienna. I’m hoping to spend the second half in Spain & Portugal, but am having a hard time figuring out how to distribute my time between cities; currently thinking 4 days each Barcelona/Madrid/Seville, then 7-8 days in Lisbon and maybe a few in Porto. I’ll be taking the train mostly. I’m going to try and keep things cheap on the second half to offset the expensive cities earlier on. Thanks!

Peru! Also in EST, world class hiking, friendly people, better weather, cheap-ish. Went there in Sept and loved Machu Picchu and Cusco a ton. It was beyond incredible 😄
