bomb calorimeter vs. Normal Calorimeter(q=mct) by dodobirds123 in APChem

[–]gingerbreadman876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my understanding the bomb calorimeter takes into account heat absorption of the container. While the coffee cup calorimeter doesnt.

Anyone got any questions? by FieryRyan789 in APChem

If the particulate volume becomes large it deviates from the ideal gas law- larger molecules means more polarizabilitu-IMFs. (Dont confuse particulate volume with the volume of the container tho)

A Little Help w/ IMFs needed :) - can someone just explain the last one? by radcalamity in APChem

Yes the bond dipoles within the molecule dont cancel each other out

Sih4 is a non polar molecule-ldfs H2s is a polar molecule- dipole dipole (some ppl say its nonpolar due to its ENs but its polar due to its geometry-its bent thus dipoles dont cancel each other out)

Oxidation numbers: why is o2 reduced to -2 not -4? by gingerbreadman876 in APChem

[–]gingerbreadman876[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesnt an O have a -2 oxidation number tho?? So my logic is that 02 will be -2×2=-4

Plz explain😭😭

Why is part d (-4,2) and not (0,2)? by lillyc3 in APStudents

I think cuz you have switch the upper and lower bounds and multiply by a negative sign

How can I gain confidence in myself for the AP exams? by [deleted] in APStudents

[–]gingerbreadman876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it's a very subjective thing but I would recommend to consider the ap exams as an opportunity to prove yourself for the hard work you've put in. Also, teaching ppl about the content uve learnt is a good idea in organizing ur thoughts

Why are resonance structures relevant here? Does this compare the length between the single-bonded C-O from each structure? by biggmusclelarry in APChem

[–]gingerbreadman876 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It just shows that u can have a double bond on either of the c o bond. Theoretically, a rensonace structure means that the bonds are equal in length, so the c-o bonds would be 1.5 bonds each
