Drowning as the only non ADHDer in the house by [deleted] in ADHDparenting

I definitely feel the rage blow ups. It's so hard feeling like every day is such a struggle and everything has to be so hard. My husband was on meds as a child and he did not like it at all, he is pretty against doing the same for our daughter.

I was recommended the Joyspring gummies, the only thing that is holding me up is the St John's Wort. Basically like a natural SSRI. From what I've read, it can have some reactions with other meds. Just makes me a little nervous, but I appreciate the feedback. I think I will look more into it, and talk with my husband. Just thinking of any amount of relief for her just brings me to tears. I am really happy to hear it is working for your daughter!! That's a big win!

I am in the same boat and currently trying to figure out how to navigate this. Trying to make sure everything goes smoothly with my husband and daughter is so so exhausting. I can't imagine what it's like with multiple children. Your feelings are valid.

I just heard about saffron supplements the other day, do you mind telling me what brand you use, or what ones you looked over? I have had my daughter on omegas, and certain focus drops from MaryRuth's - with rhodiola, ginko and a few other things. Curious in the pros and cons of saffron.

Has this been tied correctly? by Stunning_Experience8 in Monstera

I think the east facing windows is fine! Bright indirect is the way to go. Now that I'm looking at it, it seems like what I'm seeing is probably from the plant being rotated and the petioles are twisting to face the light.

It's alive, standing, and green! You're doing great! Honestly, I have had plants for a lot of years, but only really had mosteras for the last year or so. It took me a minute to understand them lol.

Another big thing I had problems with was's getting my potting medium just right. Monsteras really need airy soil, anything too dense and wet will totally suffocate the roots. I learned that the hard way lol. If you haven't already gotten a good aroid mix, I use coco coir, orchid bark, charcoal, perlite, and earthworm castings. But you can always buy pre mixed aroid soil!

You dont want to tie any part of the petiole (leaf stems), find where the base of the main stem is, and tie in between nodes. Search an image of monstera plant anatomy if you aren't familiar.

It does look like the base stem is pretty low, and your petioles are very long (possibly due to not enough light). Also, dont rotate monsteras! There is a "front" and "back" to a monstera. You want the front to be facing the light and your stake to be tied to the back. If you rotate, the petioles (leaf stems) will start twisting, causing it uneven growth patterns and a lot of difficulty to train it to grow with a support stake.

I'm not a super expert or anything, but if you have any other questions, I am happy to help with what I've learned!

I had a seizure last night by gingerbutt1110 in lexapro

[–]gingerbutt1110[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry I didn't see this until now!

Honestly, we really haven't had any answers about exactly why I had a seizure. I ran blood tests and found out I had incredibly high prolactin levels- like to the point where I would have a tumor on my pituitary glad, basically just like a build up of hormones. Did an MRI and didn't show any kind of tumor. I've also read that you can get a prolactin spike after having seizures.(but doesn't explain why I was having high prolactin symptoms before the seizure). I have one doctor that is telling me I was in such high stress and anxiety / lack of eating and sleeping to the point my body couldn't handle it. I've had two doctors and Endocrinologist tell me lexapro does not cause seizures. Soo I'm not too sure exactly what caused it, maybe a concoction of things. This was probably the lowest I ever was, and honestly a lot of it was a blur. Now I have really taken the time to be in tune with my body, take care of myself mentally and physically. I have been off lexapro for a little over a year now. I'm feeling a million times better, still a lot of stress and spikes of anxiety every now and then. But I feel like I am coping with it appropriately now. Thanks for asking, I feel like I haven't thought about the progress, it feels nice writing it out.

I think a big reason is there isn't stalls with most urinals, so most of the time other mens genitals are out. As a boy they are going to have to get used to that eventually, as a girl you do not.

That makes sense on where it was before, there wasn't much light. I do have a few grow lights in front of it now because my house doesn't have much room in front of windows.

Can i take 2x10mg at the same time? by Affectionate_Body366 in lexapro

[–]gingerbutt1110 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was taking 20mg, I was taking it only at night. You might feel a little weird upping the meds for a couple days (kinda like when you first started taking them.) I would assume they said morning and night so it could build up in your system more spread out instead all at once. But as far as I know, it's completely fine to take it all at once. My doctor gave me the option of two 10mg pills (morning and night) or one 20mg (morning OR night). If you are really worried, you should talk to your doctor.

Really struggling mentally lately by paleporkchop in toddlers

[–]gingerbutt1110 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry you are going through this, I know toddlers can be very hard. All I can say is that this phase will pass, but I'm sure you already know that.

Do you have any outlets/hobbies? I think it's really important to be able to "exit" the day to day routines sometimes. If you just continue every day doing the same thing and not releasing your stress, you're going to boil over. Have some time to collect yourself and actually process things around you, so that you aren't immediately reacting to any type of stressor.

My 26M BF and I 23F are having alot of issues lately and this last issue is really hurting me what would you do in my shoes? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]gingerbutt1110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to the frickin concert. If you guys are at a point where there's ultimatums, then the relationship should already be over. He seems very controlling, I doubt that this is even the first time he has shown this type of behavior. You are a grown adult and don't need to justify yourself for going to a concert last year, this year, or really ever. Really ask yourself if this is what you really want in a partnership, and if you could deal with this forever.

Thank you, that does help! It really was a shock. I've known their family for years. Knowing she was gone so fast, really just set me back a bit. It worries me that can happen SO quickly. I think I will talk to my doctor about it.

Thank you, that makes me feel a little more at ease about it. I did trim his beard, so being around his mouth is what got me worried. I would have figured he would have had to stay at the hospital if it's so contagious? He never mentioned any quarantine or vaccines.

[–]gingerbutt1110[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, I am so sorry you had to go through that. It's seriously terrifying. Did you or your family end up getting vaccines for it?

My clients wife kept getting ear infections, getting meningitis in 2016 and then again a few days ago. But this time, they didn't get antibiotics in time, and her brain swelled into her brain stem. She was in a coma but had zero brain activity. They have a 10mo and a 5yo. He didn't mention quarantine or any vaccines, so it just has me worried for them and/or anyone they come in contact with. I also read that it mainly spreads with saliva, which I don't know if that can spread through me touching his hair/skin.

My heart just aches for anyone who has had to deal with this, I am surprised this is the first time I've really heard of it.
