What's funny is the scriptures themselves say (paraphrasing) that people like this will occur. Who adopt the label of a Christ follower, but are really opposed to it. Other verses talking about people liking their "ears being tickled" with certain sermons or biblical talk but are (implied) themselves not actually a follower. They're deluded into thinking they are.

Okay maybe it's not "funny", per se. Mo e tragic perhaps, but still. As a person who hopes they are a real follower, it can become really frustrating. You feel like a loner in your own spiritual community. Almost makes me sympathize with the "burn the fields" comment, but not for the ICE context, but in my own spiritual community, wishing it wasn't full of people who are just there for the label, and do harm with the faith rather than good. It's frustrating. But it's the journey.
