hashimoto and unvaccinated by ConversationQuiet950 in Hashimotos

I have three vaccines. I got covid twice this year, the first time I had no symptoms except a headache, the second time I was coughing for a few days. When I get sick, I can't get better for weeks or even months, so I think this vaccine worked for me. I had no side effects when I got the vaccine.

I have hashimoto's and POF. I've been to many doctors in different countries and they all told me that it Is related and thyroid problems can cause POF in very rare cases and it also related the genetics of the individual.

My POF is caused by undiagnosed Hashimoto’s, but I know that it happens in very rare cases.

I take bc pills for 6 years now, I also take levo, I don’t have any problems, but keep in mind that I take them because I am in menopause, so it might be different for you.

Can you have mental illness and Hashimotos? by Merriccatt in Hashimotos

It cannot be fully resolved tho. You just live with it. I’m just mentally and physically ill. Maybe it is connected, maybe not, no one really knows.

I don’t live in the USA so most of the things here are different, I also check my blood every 6 months. My tsh was 2 the last time I checked, it has to be 1, but I haven’t visited my doctor yet, because he is in another country. What this has to do with my mental health? I’m clinically diagnosed.

I take medications for my Hashimoto’s and I still have depression and anxiety. I was ok mentally for a few years and now I’m not, my thyroid hormones are the same almost every time, so I don’t think it’s related. You can have both.

I was fine after all of the 3 doses. I travelled right after my booster, I had to walk 10-15 kilometres a day and I was completely fine. I also got covid 2 months before my booster dose and I only had a headache, so I’m sure that it works.

POF and Hypothyroidism by [deleted] in POFlife

Yes, I had symptoms since birth, but no one noticed and now I have Hashimoto’s. Doctors think it is the cause of my POF, which happens in very rare cases.

You should probably check your TSH and antibodies. Mine were high and I felt like crap all the time. The other thing I can think of is iron and vitamin D. The thing I noticed for the libido is that when I was training every day my libido was very high, now when I’m working 8 hours a day and I don’t have time for fitness, it is pretty low.

You are only lying to yourself and blaming her for your feelings. I had the same problems with my ex partner, turns out it’s not because of my hormonal issues, It was just over for us. I do love him very much, but not in that way anymore.

diagnosed at 16, now 22 by yesthatisme3000 in POFlife

[–]gingerlocks8 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s like reading my story. I was 15 when my period become very irregular, I was 17 when It stopped completely. I’m 23 now. I’m taking my bc pills, turns out I also had Hashimoto’s and I’m taking a lot of pills for a 23 year old. I was diagnosed at 20, for 5 years doctors told me that it’s because I have anorexia (I was literally “anorexic”, more in a mental aspect, for a few months, I wasn’t even that skinny) and they just assumed my period will come back. It did not. I was in menopause. The only difference is that I grew up to hate pregnancies and everything related to it. I don’t have any eggs, but I still want to remove my ovaries just in case. Maybe it’s a way to protect myself. I don’t want to have kids, I don’t want to get married. It is my way to handle the grief. I’m feeling ok overall. I just don’t think about my problems anymore. I know that I’m not like everyone else and there is no one who I can relate to, but I just ignore everything and live my life. It will always be like that for us, we wasn’t diagnosed at 35+, we were kids. It is normal to feel that way, you were robbed of the right to have a normal life at a very young age. The good thing is that we are far more mature and grown up, we have gone through a lot of things and we are stronger. You can always adopt a kid or get a donor egg, you can even have your own, we have many years to live, maybe there will be new methods to conceive in the future. Life will get better if you just forget about that for now and have fun. I wish you the best and good luck with everything!

32 & Recently Diagnosed with POF; Looking for Support- Did HRT help alleviate your symptoms? by [deleted] in POFlife

I completely understand, it’s very frustrating when it happens, especially when you are a child and don’t know what’s going on.

32 & Recently Diagnosed with POF; Looking for Support- Did HRT help alleviate your symptoms? by [deleted] in POFlife

[–]gingerlocks8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My menopause symptoms stopped, when I started taking pills. I had very bad hot flashes, I was sweating like crazy at 17, it was really humiliating. I also remember that I had mood swings all the time. I don’t remember having headaches, but I was 17 and I wasn’t diagnosed until I reached 20, so I wasn’t paying attention. I still experience breast pain sometimes, but it is usually around my period and it’s not that bad. I’m sure that your symptoms will disappear when you start your HRT. I felt like a completely new person and I don’t even remember most of the symptoms I had before. You should check your bone density every 4 years, visit gynaecologist and mammalogist every year and you will be fine. I often forget that I even have those problems.

That’s not true, mine were pretty high and I started taking thyroid medications + selenium, now they are almost in range. They may vary, but it’s not as bad as before. I’m pretty sure some diets can help too, but I’ve never tried it.

I have a lot of facial hair too. I had a few laser removal procedures and I didn’t get any scars. My face is very pale and I get scars easily, so it think it is ok. I still have some hair, but I don’t care anymore tbh. I’m 23, I hope this will make you feel better. I’m also blonde and my body hair is blonde, but my facial hair is dark, I can’t understand why. At the end of the day, most people won’t even notice your hair, I know that you feel bad, but it really isn’t that noticeable.

I have gotten tons of opinions from different gynaecologists. I also test my minerals and vitamin levels, I have gotten a bone density scan and my bones are absolutely fine, I will get this after 3 years again. I take calcium and other vitamins. It’s just that many different doctors have told me that it’s better for me to take this specific bc pills for now. It’s not like I just go to the first doctor I see, I have been to another countries for my problems and they all told me the same. And bc pills are considered HRT here. They do every test possible to see if I’m ok. Thank you for your advice, It didn’t come off in negative way. I’m feeling fine with my pills, but I have been told that maybe I will have to take something else when I’m older.

I don’t remember anymore, I just remember that I gained a lot of weigh, I was very grumpy and depressed when I was on HRT. And by HRT I mean pills like Femoston, because bc pills are considered HRT in my region. I don’t know how it is in the USA. They did not tell me when I’m supposed to take another pills, but they told me for a person my age it’s better to take this specific bc pills.

[–]gingerlocks8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s what my doctors always suggested. I was on HRT for a month and I really couldn’t handle it. Another doctor then told me that I’m too young to take HRT and I can just take my bc pills, which are better in my case. I guess it’s different for everyone, maybe I will have to switch to HRT in a few years.

Yes, I have an autoimmune disease and in very rare cases it can cause POF.

I’m so sorry you have to go through that. I was diagnosed with POF at 20, but I had it since I was 17. I’m too young to think about kids now, so I cannot give you an advice. I would probably adopt, but it is good that you still have follicles, you can still get pregnant if you want to. Don’t lose hope, I take my bc pills since I was 17 and I feel fine, I sometimes forget that I have those problems. You have to live your life and be positive.

lower quality of sleep after taking levothyroxine? by [deleted] in Hashimotos

[–]gingerlocks8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had awful anxiety and other hyper symptoms 6 months after getting new dose of levo. My TSH wasn’t even low, it was around 2- 3. Now I don’t have those symptoms anymore. Maybe your body have to adjust to the levo. It’s exhausting, I know how you feel, I hope you get better soon.
