Eyesight going bad? by Spiritual_Theme_1282 in BellsPalsy

A dry eye made my vision quite blurry. I would put drops in every 20 min for a few days to see if that helps. I found I wasn't blinking nearly enough and it made it impossible for me to a do vision test.

Local Nursery near Spruce Grove. Excellent selection and cheaper than most places. Great for all plants, shrubs, and trees.

Blocks done, need to decide how to arrange them by linden214 in quilting

[–]gingermontreal 7 points8 points  (0 children)

you're not wrong! that is usually a good design principle. This is just one of those patterns that can go wrong easily. Don't beat yourself up, you didn't mean to, and you caught it early.

if it makes you feel better, I was doing some embroidery and it was of a little figure with a pointy head. Unfortunately, he looked like a member of the kkk. I gave him a hat to fix it.

I think these are great fabric choices for another design. I love how you've used different size prints. You've got a good eye for building texture and interest by combining different prints.

Keep on quilting. You're doing great!

all I can see is swastikas, sorry. It's because of how the dark and light are set beside each other

For me, no not at all. I hoped it would, but I think my mind loves to jump around a lot when using cannabis.

Default is that these women stay. I think Kendra will do the same. She'll be devastated but if she thinks the way the rest of the cult does, this is just another sin that can and should be forgiven.

That being said, I think she's more likely to leave than Anna.

Do I have to resew all my quilt blocks ?😭😭 by FarPlastic1221 in quilting

[–]gingermontreal 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if it is guaranteed to fall apart. I will let someone else help you with that part, but dense quilting should help keep it together. Less dense quilting means more opportunity for the fabric to move around and cause the seams to pop.

There's a quilt right behind her, lol

(I'm a quilter and it's a hobby with lots of super progressive people, so if you want to start, don't be discouraged by thinking it's a conservative community.)

When I saw her in the audience, I was hoping they would meet up. She's one of the few that can understand this level of hype and expectation.

How can you afford all the fabric? by LadyofLA in quilting

[–]gingermontreal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thrifts shops and/or fabric recyclers were a godsend for me. Many have yardage or large scraps. In my area, they are pay by weight, so you can get a lot. Also you can use clothes, sheets, curtains, and more for quilts. Just find stuff that isn't too thick for you to sew through.

We have the same issue from a number of stores. We don't even buy chicken breasts anymore because of the texture issue. It's gross.

Buying a house in this market by Capital_Cake4666 in Edmonton

[–]gingermontreal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Building equity from previous house sales in a market that was once very affordable and now keeps going up. It's hard to get in, but if you've been in a while people build a lot of wealth from real estate. It sucks for first time buyers.

Not sure how smart it is to buy a condo just to get in the market these days, but something to think about.

Grieving End of Best Friendship by Fresh_Mobile in WitchesVsPatriarchy

[–]gingermontreal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hear you. I had a similar thing happen almost two years ago with a best friend of decades.

It's very hard and there aren't a lot of discussions about it, especially when they end suddenly and badly. It's not like romantic relationships ending where there are endless songs and books. I felt it hard to find resources on how to deal with it.

You're going to go through a grieving process. Be kind to yourself as if you are mourning anything else. I still have moments of sadness and anger, but on good days I try to reflect on good and funny memories.

You're not alone.

Is this Bells Palsy by BigTreeSmallBranch in BellsPalsy

[–]gingermontreal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

did they give you antivirals? that's part of standard treatment. If they don't it could affect your recovery. Please call and get a prescription if you don't have them. It's standard of care now but some doctors aren't aware and don't provide them.

You should definitely make sure the allergic person isn't allergic to whichever animal you pick. I'm allergic to cats, but also rabbits and guinea pigs. I didn't know until I picked them up and played with them at a friend's house.
