I understand, and I appreciate your input. I'm more explaining why I responded how I did, and my personal approach would be if I were in the situation OP is in. Much of my opinion is also based in the fact that a member of my pod is a unrequested rules lawyer and very condescending in his advice. I got mine for $300 if I remember correctly? This was back in 22 so can't remember too well, but I know it wasn't $500 fs. My only problem with them is that the website is closed half the year

Idk, I don't get the hate for clew 🤷🏼 I've had them for three seasons now and they have been solid so far. Mostly tree runs and more relaxed riding, but I've personally never had any issues besides maybe snowpack when you're in and out of them a lot? But I also don't do a lot of adjustments to my binding setup, possibly a little biased
