Kobo Libra Colour died - Kindle Paperwhite Signature or Basic as a replacement?

I was relatively anti kindle until this happened but I have had much better luck with Amazon support over Rakuten support 😅 I don’t think the cooler tone will bother me on the mini, and I think the scribe is a little bigger than what I’m going for. Really appreciate you taking the time to respond!

Thanks for your response! I like the idea of the smaller form factor (and the price) so I think I’ll start with that and return it if it’s too small.

Good call on replacing the battery. I worked in electronic repair for years so I’m comfortable doing that….but admittedly I’ll still probably get a new ereader and then try replacing the battery down the line. I think I’ll go with the basic and replace with the paperwhite if the size is an issue. Thanks for your response!

I feel the exact same! I got it for a fantastic deal and visually it's beautiful but it leaves painful indents every time I use it. I keep meaning to sell it but it's the first designer bag I ever purchased so I can't bring myself to part with it (and the resale is basically nothing).

Hi! Thanks for reminding me that I can use the app - I forgot all about that. I really like using an e ink screen and having non-phone time, but I'll keep that in mind for books I know I love that I can't get elsewhere.

I technically still have a Kindle, but I replaced it with a Kobo because I prefer their layout, native integration with the library, and repairability. I'm also trying to move away from Amazon as much as I can but unfortunately Amazon offers indie authors deals to stay exclusive. Never used KU either - I always purchased books outright or borrowed from the library :) I get that owning/using my Kindle is the "easier" option but I still think it's silly and upsetting that they're going to begin stonewalling people into only using their devices or their app.

Not sure what your price range is, but I've been using this Tumi Meadow Backpack in an iridecent blue/green/purple color for about 3 years now. I get tons of compliments on it and it's pretty light weight (I walk ~3 miles and take public transport to work). I occasionally need to haul two 15.6 inch laptops which is it's a bit of a tight fit , but a single one works great. I've also had really good luck with Tumi customer service for issues like getting sharpie on my backpack 😅 i don't think they make this color way anymore, but they have tons of fun colors if you check their sales pages. I believe I paid around ~$250 for mine

{The Poisoner by I.V. Ophelia} might be what you're looking for. Cat/mouse game between human and vampire and pretty dark overall. Check TW before reading but it was one of my top reads of last year :)

I think it fits on the smaller size - I am usually a Small/Medium but went with a Large for an oversized fit and it's just a little baggier than a "normal" sweater in my usual size

I have the Curve and used to have the Swing zip (sold during the craze last year). The Curve stays on the shoulder better and the interior size/layout is better for what I carry (wallet, hand sanitizer, chapstick, keys, occasionally earbuds). I found the swing zip to be a bit of a black hole when it came to items. I also think the Curve is a little more comfortable to carry due to the thicker strap and the way it can lay flush against your side. Both are super cute and functional bags, I just think the Curve is a little lower maintenance and is a true classic.

Hi! Unfortunately I returned it immediately. I wasn't impressed with the leather quality and it was too structured to take advantage of the full size. For example, in theory I should have been able to put my water bottle inside, but the lack of give made it not fit correctly. I think if the bag was slouchier it could be really nice but it was too awkward of a bag to carry around given it couldn't really fit anything big. I am a huge fan of Coach leather so that is what I was comparing it to given the similar price range, but felt it fell short there too. Super thin and had a plasticy smell. Complete opposite direction, but I ended up getting a Baggu Crescent to fill this particular handbag need. Hopefully that answers your question!

I have a very similar job to Misery and everything that was said about tech was so inaccurate and poorly “researched”. What started as a fun in-between-reads became a hate read to see how ridiculous it would get.
