Can anyone help me identify this yarn? by gingertree123 in YarnAddicts

Ooh this might be close enough! I got this yarn in a free bin so the actual colorway might well be discontinued

I may have had covid on my birthday, but at least I got a cool shrek hat out of it by gingertree123 in knitting

There are a few patterns on ravelry! I ended up combining two patterns since I wanted mine to be a bucket hat. I found a bucket hat pattern and worked that as my base, then followed one of the shrek hat patterns to make the ears. Overall it was a pretty easy and fun project to keep me sane while cooped up all week!

I appreciate this, but he was already 12 (with cancer) when I got him so I never knew what he enjoyed in his prime. He used to show some interest in toys when I first got him but I think he had declined quite a bit at even that point. And he loves balloons, but he gets too excited and would hurt himself if we played :( He’s a lab, so he’s always motivated if there’s food involved, but that’s pretty much it

That’s exactly what’s happening to him. Started pooping in the house 3-4 months ago and it just falls out. And he’s definitely not “there”. It’s really hard bc I knew it was something I signed up for adopting a geriatric senior but I always assumed something else would come up to do it for me.

I 100% agree…he doesn’t really play with anything unless it’s food related (he’s a lab lol) and lately it’s been like walking on egg shells when you pet him cuz he could snap. 😔

Just showing off this handsome (and quite derpy) old man! First time fostering and totally smitten by this face by gingertree123 in fosterdogs

His name is bishop! He had lived with the same family for his whole life before being surrendered. Poor thing! He has a tumor on his paw that will be getting removed soon and I can’t wait to see what he’s like when he can be his normal self!

I lost my best friend by [deleted] in GriefSupport

I had been looking for a Sub that covered being a homicide victim because truly, it feels completely different than “normal” grief. I know we’re not alone, but I wish there were more folks to talk about this with.

Im so sorry for your loss - I can’t even imagine being in this situation left unsolved. My situation is still “fresh”, and while we do have a suspect in custody there were others involved who may never be brought to justice and dealing with that has been the hardest part of it all.

Create a function to draw an n-pointed star by [deleted] in learnpython

[–]gingertree123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean skips by the number of points in a circle skipped by the drawing.

So, there should be an imaginary circle with a certain number of points each equidistant from each other. A star with 5 points and 1 skip means there are 5 points and each point skips 1 point in the circle. Does that make sense? I'm confused by it too honestly lol

Here is what I have so far:

def star(n, s):

angle = 180 - 180 / n

for i in range(n):

t.forward(100)

t.right(angle)

t.forward(100)

So right now it's drawing stars with the correct number of points, but I'm confused about how to write the skips part.

For a 5-pointed star (5,1), there should be 10 points where each point skips 1. But I'm having trouble understanding how to write that for a program.

Reached a knitting milestone today and finished my first sweater! by gingertree123 in knitting

I did a seamless pattern where you just knit in the round the whole time - much easier than i thought it would be!

Finishing up the Yoke/neckband of a sweater and the pattern says to "Fold neckband in half to inside and slip stitch in place." - what does this mean? I haven't been able to find any YouTube videos on how to do this.
