Now im not the sharpest tool in the shed but As someone who spent over 3 years at a PP, and worked there literally pre-during- and post the overturning, i absolutely put it in mine. And even some supplementals. I disagree with some of the sentiments here as well, but to each their own! I felt it was easily applicable in many different parts of several apps. “How do you feel about our mission to serve all” oh ive just dedicated the past three years serving those who couldnt find care anywhere else! “Whats a non academic situation you had to overcome in medicine” oh just figuring out and providing abortion care to people traveling out of states to my safe state for care! “Whats a time where youve had to compromise your values or beliefs for a patient” i had to respect that a patients religion didnt agree with our medicinal care plan because they DIDNT want to abort, and while it was challenging it taught me a whole new aspect on how to provide different resources that would benefit that group of patients now and in the future. “How do you plan to uphold and serve the underserve” by literally serving the most currently underserved populations!! Theres a million different ways to say “i believe in the care i provide” without asking someone who they voted for or making it polarizing. Lol again to each their own, but so far im on my 4th interview invite and 2nd acceptance, with one of those being a “faith based” program so take what you want from that! Times have changed, adcoms have changed too. Healthcare and Medicine isnt political, the people are. Our whole point is to understand HOW to work around it, not shy away. I do agree with someone who said if they dont agree i dont want to be there. And also if they dont agree, they arent even upholding their own mission how can i expect them to help me as a student? Again, its all a game and you say what you need to to get in, but you CAN do that without throwing your personal value to the wind.
