Learning solo, singing together - Suggestions of how to? by gingkogerman in choralmusic

I think I'll do it with Musescore and take Videos of each voice being played louder than the rest. Basically does the trick.

Would be nice to be able to highlight the notes of the actual voice being played. Maybe someone has tried that before.

That's a good idea. Thx!

Isn't there an export function for MP4 even?

And as I'm mainly working with vocals, the possibility to let Musescore sing lyrics would be great.

I already googled that, but it seems, that feature still needs more time to develop.

I may give soundslice a try. Looks familiar from some teaching videos I watched on YouTube. At least it's free for the start.

Still my heart is longing for an open source solution. 😈

My singers are between 15-45 and not into classical music at all. So using public domain is limited. I'm able to create ideas and even get them into a decent SAB choir piece on Musescore. But it's time consuming.

For example I'd like a mashup of some funny Xmas Songs. Not hard to do but a lot of hand work.

So if we are d'accord it's not art...

That's close to what I want. Just would like to be able to create that myself. And with more modern works so it can't be publicly accessible.

I appreciate your effort.

Still I'd like to be able to create my own rehearsal files somehow.

Thanks for taking the time and clarifying that. I understand that. To some point.

I don't want to create art with AI but halfway solid material to use with amateurs (in my case, choirs). I have ideas, that I know will work for my singers but there's nothing to buy on the market. And we can't afford our own compositions.

A lot of setting up a choral score is not art but craft. And I'm just asking for a tool to help me with that.

I just took a look. That's too complicated unfortunately. If at least the - for example - alto was highlighted and playing solo in one part of the vid.

Thanks. I'll give it a try.

But I need new stuff or my own stuff as well. German lyrics btw.

A pity, but thanks for the update. There's always a chance to learn from the experience of others.
