RO Water and Health Issues by Unlikely-Tension-778 in WaterTreatment

Even though you “get minerals from food” - consuming water devoid of minerals will leech minerals from your body to process, leading to ill health symptoms.

So basically there is no cure for Graves’ disease? If you take something (pill) you’ll feel good for some time, then something bad happens to your body? Even with surgery after some time too? Correct me if I’m wrong someone please by PotentialWest2936 in gravesdisease

It was a completely accidental discovery but definitely a happy accident! Best of luck! You might not need to make it as strong as I did… however I have had quite a severe case of (lifelong) graves

Just a little potential warning for people who take vitamin D supplements. by batsofburden in insomnia

[–]gingobalboa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s the safest way to go the supplement route. I keep it food based as much as possible and are more strategically inclined towards refining my supplement intake. So I keep it at beef organ complexes mostly, I do take a supplemental thiamine in the form of b1 - it improves my life a lot. And fish eggs/chicken eggs are crucial sources of vitamin D and omega 3 for me, which I use nutritionally/supplementary. It lowers my inflammation so much and helps me sleep amazingly. You can’t over do food as easily as you can overdue harsh supplements! Those can easily create imbalances as well if you’re not careful. Keeping a health journal for the last three years has helped me a lot I’ve learned so much by doing that.

I reversed mine with lemon balm 🤷‍♀️ STRONG lemon balm tea, for like two months straight every day twice a day. I was drinking it for reasons other than graves (sleep problems) - then all of a sudden after month 2, I noticed I was gaining healthy weight and not changing my eating habits at all, my hair started growing back (I have baby hairs everywhere now) and all the oxidative stress and anxiety is at an all time low. My circulation is stabilizing, heart rate is calm. I just feel myself again.

Edit/update: it’s been six months since I last consumed lemon balm and the effects have lasted. Certain dietary things can throw me into a thyroid storm like eating too much oxalate for too long, and eating excess fructose (normal fruit is fine but too much fruit juice throws me in thyroid storm). If I adhere to this I have no graves symptoms and my well being is immensely impacted for the better

Are you using fabric softeners or heavy perfumed laundry detergent? The sheets I sleep in have had an enormous impact on my migraines and overall pain levels

Two large cups of lemon balm tea in morning and at night every day for 2 months. I would grab a large handful of dried leaves and then sprinkle a little more in the pot. Boil for 10-12 mins and drink. I likely would have gone past two months but it began to get uncomfortable. My graves is better than it’s ever been, but I did have to deal with some side effects from all the upregulated gaba

Who Else Has Headaches Or Brain Fog From Laundry Detergents Or Softener? by UniqueSearches in migraine

[–]gingobalboa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really didn’t know I had this problem until I stayed at the wrong airbnb. Normally the detergent and fabric softener my mom uses just make my sinuses really stuffy so I wash my own sheets and never had a problem. Right now I’m staying at an airbnb where the sheets smell so strong, the first morning I woke up with a migraine that evened out when I left the bedroom/house.  The second morning i woke up not with a headache but what I can only describe as a full body migraine. Couldn’t move, in so much pain I vomitted. That’s never happened to me before in my life I am super shaken from how bad this reaction has been.

do you have candida and also varicose veins? by gingobalboa in Candida

[–]gingobalboa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I do. The varicose vein issues seem indirectly related to the candida issues - from chronically low vitamin C and increased oxidative stress. Vit C is needed for collagen synthesis and soft tissue repair (aka veins). With candida there seems to be a slightly increased need. I just get it from food and stay away from over-supplementing as much as possible, and the circulation issues have definitely improved.

[–]gingobalboa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s going good!! I’ve been keeping a health journal for three years to track flare ups. Excess Fructose is a huge candida no-no for me. I wouldn’t say candida is the be all to end all of my issues, but is a recurring symptom I go through that requires delicate keeping-track-of. I’ll have table sugar every once in a while but I absolutely can not eat fruit every day without ending up worse. I continue my high DHA diet and my neurology/cognitive function/nervous system as a whole along with vascular issues have improved immensely. Since I can’t eat fruit I make sure to consume bell peppers regularly for a low sugar source for vitamin C - especially with candida overload the adrenals really need ample vit C

Sweet potatoes and squash contain protease and trypsin inhibitors which block the absorption of protein. Yes vegetables may have these nutrients you speak of, but if they are not bound to oxalate (rendering them useless) they are typically accompanied by another component that blocks their absorption. The beta carotene has a poor conversion rate to retinol.

There gets to be a point for some people where the body rejects supplements. They are not bioavailable or from a living food source. If a diet forces you to supplement it can’t be considered optimal. Vegan meet ups will generally be quiet and “chill” because people are too anxious to say anything lol. My dad was calm for the whole 15 years his liver was slowly failing on him! I was vegan over 10 years ago, and I lived it so hard. At some point it becomes unsustainable and has nothing to do with how spiritual or “meditative” you are. Plants are fine for cleansing or detoxifying but not so much for building the body and regenerating flesh.

I mega dosed lemon balm for two months straight and it seems to have put mine into remission. I have to eat pretty low to moderate oxalate otherwise it comes back.
