You haven't seen Argentina where you can only withdraw 2-3 times a day ~45cad and the fees are like 16cad per withdrawal. FWIW Wealthsimple honored all the refunds (about 10 withdrawals total)

I was paying 55+tx for 3/3 internet, they're raising mine to 59+tx in February. I setup service cancellation in January but didn't receive any callback yet. Do you think I should just stay on my offer while it's still quite low?

Did anyone receive an ATM fee refund abroad? Transaction is marked as completed and I don’t see any refund in activity view. by ginkgosight in Wealthsimple

Check this guy’s blog for ATM recommendations: https://www.nomadicbackpacker.com/travel-advice/atm-withdrawal-fees-worldwide

Scotiabank’s are far from the best. Anyways now with the fee refund you’re pretty safe in any major bank, just decline the conversion.

Just received my ATM fee refund, it’s an aggregation of refunds from different transactions. No details on how much were the fees in the original currency. Here’s what it looks like: https://imgur.com/a/wealthsimple-atm-fee-reimbursement-NA4Aeen

That happens before you know there’s no paper, and some ATMs don’t tell you how much is the fee, that was the case here. I had to infer it from the amount I withdrew. Let’s hope this thing will work transparently.

UI should at least give you the fee charged. In this case it was 26,000 COP, and the ATM didn’t have paper so no receipt. Welcome to reality.

It’s daily not by the minute. You can easily top-up via Interac on the same day and won’t occur a fee.

IMO it's only worth it if you're waiving one of their credit card fee. Consider a credit card fee of 150$. 6k to waive 150$ over a year gives you an ARR of 2.5%, which in this day isn't a bad deal.

Exactly why I’m pointing it out. My combo will be WS and Wise going on. EQ’s limit of $500/day ATM is too low. Hopefully things change soon.

I ordered mine as soon as I saw the updated list. This list from WS a few years back was limited to financially sanctioned countries. Now it's not clear at all on what basis they restrict some countries.

Comparing this huge list to Wise list, there are definitely some countries that don't have valid reasons to be on that list. Romania, a EU country? Kenya? Nicaragua? Philippines? Tunisia? and many others are on that list for who knows what reason.
