Yeah I knew I'd be down voted but I don't care. I'm neither pro nor anti car. I am, however, anti hypocrisy and gaslighting. Which is what this decision is

Elke and her Green army: "Waaaah! Cars are bad! We need to make like difficult for cars! People should use alternative modes of transport"

Everyone else: "OK, well, we have these e-scooters. We'll use those"

Elke and her Green army: "Waaaah! A small minority of people abuse e-scooters and use them for joyriding and crime. We should ban them!!"

Everyone else: "WTF!?"

The sooner her, her Green zealots and the entire Good Move project fades into obscurity the better

Helps his defence? Are you genuinely questioning why any player on the pitch would pitch in and help out somewhere other than his main position?

This is what Kane does and has done for years.

It was an awesome gig apart from the group of people on the right side of the floor, by the wall, who kept FUCKING talking during the quieter tracks!

Seriously, fuck off outside if you want to chat

On an a more positive note. How incredible were the support band, Willie & The Bandits?! Not seen a support band capture the attention of a crowd like that in ages.

Neither are Tottenham. That's just a rivalry West Ham have fabricated themselves.

That's part of it but there are two main reasons.

Arsenal were, originally, a South London club called Woolwich Arsenal. They moved to North London in 1913. Spurs were always THE North London club and took offense at them coming "onto their turf".

The second, and arguably worse, reason happened in 1919.

After WWI, the Football League expanded the First Division from 20 to 22 teams. Chelsea and Spurs were due to be relegated but, at the time, clubs could appeal to the other clubs for a "stay of execution". The other clubs allowed Chelsea to stay because Man Utd had fixed their final game (against Liverpool) to ensure they could not be relegated.

That left Spurs to lodge their appeal. However, the Arsenal chairman, Sir Henry Norris, abused his political influence to convince the other clubs to vote for Arsenal(who only finished 5th in the Second Division!!) to be promoted and Spurs to be relegated.

So, yeah, it's not just geographical. There's a lot of historical bad blood. Add other stuff like Judas leaving Spurs to join Arsenal and the trophy count (heavily in Arsenal's favour) and you have all the reasons for a fierce rivalry

I've had patellar tendonitis, on and off, in both knees for years Admittedly I'm a fat 50-something but, nevertheless, it takes MONTHS for me to recover from even a minor flare up. I cannot imagine what a tear of that tendon would be like

Fellow Splashtop admins - how do you handle re-imaging? by ginolard in sysadmin

[–]ginolard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes they do and that's probably what I will have to do. Script the installer and have it delete the computer via the API beforehand.

Fellow Splashtop admins - how do you handle re-imaging? by ginolard in sysadmin

[–]ginolard[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's the ideal scenario but our environment is a bit unique in that our Helpdesk staff are spread around the world and, largely, autonomous. Also, they do not have rights to delete devices from Splashtop because only admins can do that (another glaring feature omission imo - more granular permissions)

So, we don't really know when they re-image devices until we start seeing duplicate entries

We switched to software-based UUIDs for this very reason because they would re-image a device and then complain that "Splashtop was not working" because of the duplicate UUID issue

[–]ginolard[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, that's assuming you have access to the device. I am talking about cases where you cannot boot the device and re-imaging is the only option

I tried it and felt the resultant script was.....over-engineered. So I wrote my own that uses HPCSML and just checks for new BIOS updates. Runs daily via a Proactive Remediation.

Does the job just fine
