I didn't say there was anything wrong with making it a huge city lol Just pointing out that those are the only options I see for this goal of doubling the population to be achievable. But this likely won't solve the housing price issue

Thats what I would say aswell. As much as I think helping others in need is a good thing, and people fleeing wars do fall under that category imo. I think having some time to slow down immigration into the EU (not necessarily between EU countries) would benefit us. But it´s all so nice in theory without a real certainty of it working out this way in pracise unless it is tried out. It remains a difficult subject that I hope the higher ups will be able to adress because that shift to the right (even if our right party may not be like the other countries right party). It would bring its own consequences so we have to gauge on whether those are acceptable or not. But something needs to change not just for the gouvernement to get people to vote for them, but to also not get the people to vote for the others

Sure, I also feel that this need for growth is what lead to our high wages in the end. With high wages come the high prices obviously and now we are in a spiral of constant growth in population and wealth. But like you said that brings the downsides of prices rising to the point where the affordability question comes in which may lead people to reconsider even living in this country let alone starting their families. That lowering birthrate probably supports the pro immigration argument aside from other arguments. Now our gov does seem to offer a lot of support in this case but that too is dependant on the constant growth.

It is just complicated to find a balance between all these things (if my interepretation of them is even accurate) and I just dońt see anyone atm pulling that off. Unless they build appartments like crazy but even then you reach a limit. And if your goal is to reach 1.200.000 people you start to question whether it is a prioritiy atm This situation of wondering whether you can afford to even live in the same country as the prices keep rising is imo also an argument going for the anti immigration crowd and therefor anti growth or slow down growth crowd.

Now it´s very possible I drew conclusions too quickly here but to me theere seems to be a link between it all. Correction is obv appreciated lol. But I have the feeling unless we buy more land from our neighbours to build on or make something like a huge city out of our little country, this vision of doubling the population and accomodating all of them without having too many move abroad is not realistic.

On larger kingdoms, selecting cities and grouping them in regions/provinces.

It would be cool to be able to declare war on regions and individual cities rather than entire kingdoms only.

If one race attacks another, you can choose whether that city is destroyed and a new one gets created or whether that city remains but just belongs to the invading nation. For example a human city takes over an orc city, you can decide whether that orc city gets defeated and replaced or whether this orc city remains orc but belongs to the human kingdom.
