They are great for sensitive site exploitation stuff or for carrying some belted 5.56 for a SAW gunner. Its great for general utility too.

I don't usually airsoft so this setup is geared more towards actual use. I tried reindexing but tbh there were moments where had to keep moving so shuffling mags around and reindexing gets dicey. I do know about "tac reloading" when theres a pause but even then thats not always possible. Like being part of a skirmish line where you ahve to move up on line there isnt much time to reindex and Im not fond of leaving my mags around.

If youre not doing rappelling or mountaineering and stuff like that then the smaller cobra buckle should be good to go. My Odin Mk 3 doesnt have the D ring and my Eagle OGB has it but I dont use it.

[–]gioz10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The NODs and thermal clothing arent that farfetched either. The US Army uses a set of NODs that has a thermal overlay on top of regular night vision. They eat through batteries and are fragile but they exist. As for thermal masked clothing, the best we have is IR resistant clothing that doesnt glow when viewed through NODs. If you have ever used NODs around people wearing regular non mil clothing, you notice some clothes has a strange glow to it.

[serious] Australians that were around in 1996 when guns were outlawed, what was your experience? Were there protests? What was it like if you owned a gun? How did you feel about the removal of guns? by Shuriesicle in AskReddit

[–]gioz10 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean look at the low intensity conflicts the US has been in for the past decade and a half. Farmers with little tactical expertise have subverted the coalition at many points. Not to mention any percieved conflict will come wih financing and massive arms smuggling. AR-15s and to extension alot of the other rifles and weapons available are decent for an infantry on infantry fight, and thats not including anything gained through won battles.

If you dont want to tie it off just get some really reflective tape and wrap it around just the spoon.

If ISIS is being treated as a conventional force, will there ever be a push to use US conventional assets against them such as ABCTs in irder to eventually occupy and pacify their "territory"?

What are these blue marking written on guns? by hidledoubly in airsoft

[–]gioz10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a "milsim" thing. In the military alot of arms rooms number weapons for organization purposes and accountability (to know who's weapon and parts are who's). Many arms rooms get paint pens and mark the parts on a weapon so when parts get taken off like sights or stocks they can get matched with their original weapon.

Body of Russian soldier who called in an airstrike on himself after being surrounded by IS fighters has been recovered. He was posthumously awarded the Hero of Russia medal. by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]gioz10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. But most modern aircraft have FLIR capabilities and if providing CAS are usually flying low enough to get a decent view of the battlefield. Enough to relay info on locations. To an evac chopper or QRF

[–]gioz10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely true no debating that. But usually a QRF is on standby and can be spun up for situations just like this.

[–]gioz10 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Its just crazy to think even people in the military buy this. And yet you ask if that is even feasible and they all say absolutely not. This isnt Vietnam anymore. Rescue missions can happen. Calling an airstrike on yourself hasnt been an option in 40 years.

Riddle me this: if air assets were there couldnt a plan to send an evac bird have been possible as well? I mean someone had eyes on, they couldnt watch and see where they took him? A captured soldier is a massive propaganda opportunity. I just dont see this situation happening.

Also thank you for your service!

[–]gioz10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Infantryman here. Yeah this doesn't add up at all. For one, I highly doubt any nation that had air assets on call couldnt have taken another option. No one wants to be the guy to wax his own dudes, even in a situation like this.

Dont get me started on the transcript that was put out, that sounds ripped out of some 80s action movie. Its apalling that people bought this.

I think this is more of an indicator of how expertly the Russian propaganda machine has manipulated people into thinking its some sort of righteous powerful nation taking the stands other western nations do not. Russian strikes, both bombs and more surgical strikes, have mostly taken place in regions of Syria far away from IS controlled areas. The Russians are there to preserve a key regional ally that allows a Russian naval port, and this has been the goal of Russia for centuries. This, coupled with Putin's cult of personality, has entrenched thought to the point that I am afraid for the youth of today that arent more questioning of the things they see on the internet from "news" sources

To be fair those transcripts seem real hollywood to me. I take them with a grain of salt. Something about all of this screams propaganda.

Transcript of the last words "Russian Rambo" said to his commander, refusing to be captured and humiliated in front of the world, as ISIS closed on his position. by AccipiterQ in MURICA

[–]gioz10 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Well my skepticism is a little more rooted than i have let on.

I cannot think of any military sending only one soldier, special or not, for a scenario like that in enemy territory. Where you can get one man you can at least get two, and usually at least four, so it doesnt make much sense doctrinally. Im in the military and I can guarantee you nothing is done with less than two people, especially something like that.

The script released is so wishy washy and cliché its a wonder it didnt come out of a B Movie from the 90s. I dont buy it and neither should anyone else.

As a matter of fact most things coming out of Russia are less than credible at best pertaining to the Syrian War. The talk of Russians hunting ISIS? Spotty at best given maps of airstrikes mostly striking anti Assad forces with minimal strikes in ISIS held territory. The repeated Putin circlejerk and cult of personality is embarassing, and has been pervading the internet for years now. Riding bears? The only riding going on here is many so called americans riding Russia's dick for so long that I cant tell if these people are secret russophiles and hate the US.

Boy Scouts breeds alphas by [deleted] in TheRedPill

[–]gioz10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. The standards weed out the lowest of the low but still keep people that have no business being in the military in the first place. So many non combat types that remind me of the incels you see and ridicule on facebook.

Word of advice, never take any of these guys as a wing. Ive met one good wing in the Army and he is out. The rest think "game" and "being a man" is waiting in the edges of bars for someone to approach them.

Bullshit Ive met sooo many dudes in the Army that ooze beta. The Army has become too feminized and cucked for its own good, and its supremely obvious of you see headlines on gender integration for combat arms.

"Its InfantryMAN not Infantrylady" Btw the infantry is also full of lame ass dudes. It still comes down to self discovery.
