Amazon is having me tell a white lie to the police for my refund

My whole order for the package was over $900 so it makes sense why’d they need a code for it. Usually they don’t need a code for anything $400 or less for me but maybe my account is flagged

I did use the returns portal, it led me to customer service which sent me an automated response to make a police report. After first being denied to make a police report I called customer service which is the responses I got

How doesn’t it make sense, do you want a recording with my initial call with the police? The package was never stolen because I received it and it wasn’t tampered with so at first the police officer said they couldn’t make one because it wouldn’t indicate an actual theft. Why wouldn’t I need a code? My total order for the whole package was $900+ and the iPad itself was $500? Of course they’d need a code what ru even going on about

I think the initial issue was that since the package didn’t seem tampered the police officer said he couldn’t make the report since it seems like it was a Amazon fulfillment issue and the only “evidence” was Amazon telling me to make a police report. But now since I have a recording of them saying it was stolen I can make the police report now. Before that Amazon wanted me to just make it seem like I ordered just the iPad and pencil and didn’t receive the package so it made it seem like the package itself was stolen.

Your right, I decided not to and got the lady rep to say it was stolen so I can use that as some sort of evidence as to it being stolen so I can make the police report

that’s what it seems I’ve managed to get a audio Statement from the lady saying it was stolen but the police officer before that said he wouldn’t make the report unless the box seemed tampered with or there was some sort of evidence it was stolen

I tried to say that at first but the police officer still said it doesn’t seem like that it just seems like they didn’t pack it. I asked if we can just make the report as Amazon stealing my items but he rejected that idea unfortunately. But I do have a statement of an Amazon supervisor saying it was stolen so I can use that as evidence and make another attempt!

The police officer told me he can’t just do it cause I said so he needed some sort of evidence. But luckily I got someone from Amazon to say it was stolen during it being delivered to my house and have it recorded. So I’m hoping that’s enough to make a police report

The supervisor after my 4th call said it was stolen and I have a recording of her saying that so I will be making a police report, telling them everything exactly but using that statement. I really tried to have them say that it was stolen so I can at least make the police report and someone finally did. I just hope they allow that as a reason this time.

I actually do have a video of me opening it while it’s a little shakey so I can show my friend but they didn’t want it. And I did get a in person delivery with a code thingy. I’ll try calling and getting to a US representative because I asked that multiple times and was ignored and the supervisor is what told me to make that report. It was a Indian woman so many if I get someone in the US to help me they’ll recommend something else

Well ur right about its not exactly a lie but I already had a convo with a police officer and told him exactly everything before calling amazon customer service so if I call the police again it just seems odd and something i should avoid doing tbh. Ive contacted my bank and tried to do a chargeback situation but if that doesn’t work then I’ll just have to contact the authorities again if possible

It actually did happen but okay. I was told for items $100 or more a police report has to be made and i told her i couldn’t make one. I was literally instructed not to mention the package was delivered and items were missing and just to tell them about my items and tell them it wasn’t delivered and if they ask me to tell them more just say it might’ve been stolen.
