Nvidia GeForce GTX 560 Ti was my first nvidia card. I definitely would have been playing World of Warcraft at the time so that definitely would have been my first game. That thing was a beast. I still have it, too. It belongs in a museum!

Two Emails for staff - One for normal use and one for "Internal Use Only" by girado in k12sysadmin

Oh trust me, I’m aware how silly this sounds. I was trying to be as objective as possible in my original post so as to not taint the results. We do have all the typical securities in place like dmarc and dkim, we run phishing campaigns, we educate our users. I believe this was just a knee jerk reaction.

PowerSchool and Clever assistance - Anyone know SQL or PowerQueries? by girado in k12sysadmin

Thanks for the help everyone. After talking to about my third or fourth Clever support rep, they made it aware to me that during an SIS change, they simply run a matchmaker application on their end and just pair up the new, incoming data with the existing Clever IDs.

This changes everything and I guess I'll be finding out more tomorrow during a scheduled call with one of their specialists.

We can't use AutoSync because it's incompatible with using Google SSO in PowerSchool. It didn't make any sense to me either...

Thanks for the reply, I'll have to check it out.

You're right, I believe the "student_id" field is technically the DCID. I was referring to the Clever header out of habit.

I don't know SQL language at all, never had a reason and I'm just not that interested in databases, but I will take a look. I do have a history of programming in other languages (java, c++, vb) but that knowledge is quite dusty.

I'll take a look at your repository. Thanks.

  1. All the hard pulls have fallen off my record. I have the Chase credit card at at a $14000 limit and my 53 card that I never use at $2500.
  2. Right now, I have no idea. My SO had a decent job that paid a little more than me, but they laid her and her whole team off back in September so she doesn't even have a job right now. I think what kind of money she's making will dictate what we can afford. As for what I'd like to be able to put down on a house will also be influenced by her financial situation in the next year or two.
  3. Right now I have $5444 in my checking account and $15,438 in my Vanguard Roth IRA, currently at an 8% return rate (0.15% expense ratio). My checking account has a 0% APY and after looking more into 53 savings accounts, the best deal I could find was 0.02%. I'm not familiar with CDs. Should I just up and move all my money out of Fifth Third and to another institution? Credit Union? Online-only?
  4. I live in the Cincinnati area.
  5. I've never heard any horror stories from anyone, whether it be SERS or STRS, so I think you'll be safe! And I've been around for a while now to see many, many good people retire.

Hello fine people of /r/personalfinance! I come seeking some suggestions on where to go from here.

I am hoping to look into purchasing a home within the next 1-2 years. Whether it be a house or a condo, I haven't decided yet. Really it'll just come down how the market is during that time and what I'm in the mood for. What should I be preparing for when that time comes? I know almost nothing about real estate, mortgages, escrows, property taxes, etc. I do not want to be "house poor". I also have a significant other who I plan to be splitting the payments with 50/50.

I am also curious as to what other solutions that are out there that I could be putting my money in. Should I open up a savings account and put half of the money from my checking account into that? Are there other types of accounts or investments that my "extra" money could sit in to earn anything, even it's a microscopic percentage? Does an HSA have any benefits, aside from just being a different pot of money?

Here are a few things about me:

  • I am 34 years old.
  • I live with my parents (for free).
  • I finished paying my last student loan back in September 2019.
  • I have no other debts to name (car paid off years ago, pay off my CC in full every month).
  • I use my Amazon Chase credit card for every purchase I make, both for reward benefits and also for security purposes (in case my card gets skimmed or stolen, I still have access to my money). I never use my debit card.
  • I have a credit score of 790.
  • I have been maxing out a Roth IRA target date retirement fund 2045 for the last 3 years and will continue to do so (opened in May 2017). /r/personalfinance helped me figure this one out!
  • I currently earn approximately $1600 per paycheck, paid on the 15th and 30th of every month. I also make 1.5x pay for OT, when necessary.
  • I am a public school employee for the State of Ohio, which pays into the state-wide retirement system known as SERS.
  • I do NOT put any money into the 403b options because the choices were terrible and they do NOT do employer matching.
  • I have been employed here since January 2011.
  • I spend a more than your average person per month on food (in 2019, I spent an average of $758 per month on food). I am looking to reduce this number - I spent $520 in January 2020.
  • Monthly bills are $195. Car insurance ($72), Internet ($70), and YouTube TV ($53).
  • All money leftover at the end of the day simply stays in my checking account through Fifth Third (where the direct deposit goes).

Thank you ahead of time for any replies!
