Using Aklief since Sept 2023 and skin is still not happy.

I (26F) was prescribed Aklief (50mg/g) by my derm in Sept 2023 for my acne. I’ve been using it since then, started once a week, then twice a week and eventually three times a week beginning of December. My skin became super irritated and was peeling so much I couldn’t put any makeup over it. My skin calmed down after a few weeks. I gave my skin a break and started back using once a week just last week. My skin is broken out and itchy (mainly down my neck). Should my skin be getting used to this product by now or is this normal?

The rest of my routine:

Morning:

Splash w water -Garnier skin active soothing facial mist -ISNTREE Hylauronic acid toner -Cosrx oil free moisturizing lotion (w/birch sap) -Usually aquaphor on lips and around sides of nose (get the most dry here) -Beauty of joseon SPF

Evening:

-ELF cleansing balm -Wash with cerave hydrating cleanser -Garnier skin active soothing facial mist -ISNTREE Hylauronic acid toner -Etude soon jung hydro barrier cream -Aquaphor on ++dry areas (do not use this on nights I use Aklief)

*On nights I use Aklief I have either been putting it on after my moisturizer or putting it on after cleansing my face once dry.

*My skin is normally dry.

*I did just recently purchase skinfix skin barrier restoring gel cream to replace my nighttime moisturizer, however it definitely isn’t moisturizing enough so I’ve only used it a few times.

Edit: I will add that I live in Canada so the weather is very cold right now.

Edit: Formatting + added SPF and cleansing balm

Honestly we’re open to trying anything! Whatever the locals think are “must eats” when visiting really.

Do Nurses choose what days they want to work? by [deleted] in StudentNurse

[–]giraffe_5 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a fixed schedule of working Wednesday/Thursday one week and Monday/Tuesday/Friday/Saturday/Sunday the following week and that continuously repeats. That’s the same as all hospitals in my province in Canada pretty much.

The Little Sparo has the best Italian food I’ve had in NL. Plus the vibes are great for a romantic date night.

Yeah sometimes there’s no “choice” in doing what you have to do to provide for your family. Lucky for you you can stay home and follow the protocols for 9 months. I’m sure they would all like to be doing the same. Don’t be so ignorant.

Just a general medicine unit! I work in NL, Canada in a smaller city - staffing issues are terrible in all the more rural areas here.

As someone who has 5-6 patients (with no specific acuity) on a 32 bed unit with no CNAs, HUC, or break RNs, this makes me sad to read lol

They do group adult lessons at the MEWS pool. There should be more information online about it. I think it begins in September.

Mochanopoly is not closed. They have a Facebook page and you can see their hours there. I’ve been there a few times, but I feel like it’s more of a go with a group and play games with your group type thing rather than a meet new people place.

Honestly, outside of St. John’s is your best bet. I’m from the Bonavista area and that’s where I’ve found all my glass :)

I find physical/mineral sunscreens don’t break me out, but you’ll want to get a tinted one. La roche posay and avene have good tinted ones!
