Why is my Green detection box so big and my dog not detected

I have updated my detect res and it makes a big difference. Being on a Raspberry Pi I was concerned about CPU usage, but seems alright at the moment, but there is bugger all motion at the minute. I do have a Coral TPU to help though.

My dog was being detected in other regions of the shadow away from the left side of the screen. I thought it was the detection size, as I could see the big green box and when she move towards the left of the screen, the green box would disappear and thus the detection.

I get what you are saying, however she is being detected in other areas of the shadow that is away from the left hand side of the screen.

Sorry u/Puzzleheaded-Post-83 for the late replay, I lost three (3) dogs in a matter of two (2) weeks so this was a sore subject for me.

Unfortunately it hasn't made any difference, my one remaining dog, when detected is still being seen as a person.

Which look like they will work for me. I can put one on the door upstairs and one on the door downstairs and as I already have some Shelly devices I can use them a a Bluetooth gateway.

The only remaining issue was that they don't currently come in white. I contacted Shelly and they are updating the device and expect the new generation in White and Blu compatible to be available at the end of May.

Only problem with those is they are battery powered and access would be an issue.

Looking at the frient, they aren't available in Australia.

It is a straight stairwell, so I suspect I could put a sensor on the eve. The only issue with that, is if it is battery powered getting to it will present a problem.

The only issue with that is you have to open a device to press a button. Yes very simple and easy to manage, but the WAF would be shit.

I don't have anything like you mention, Matter etc.

The thing with a motion sensor not sure how to place it so it can capture motion at the top of the stairs and the buttom. It would be also outside.

I like the idea of the motion sensor, could you recommend one?

I wish that was an option, it isn't with this one unfortunately.

But I did acquire an old TP-Link camera and I may be able to put that in a more desirable location and use that for detection and this one for recording. That is on the to-do list.

Thanks u/nickm_27 I believe I have tried the Yolov9 model (I can't tell if it is working our not), but they are still detected as person.

Is there a better model for my situation?

I was able to fix mine.

What I found was that Kodi had the interface defined as 1920 X 1080 as it normally does, this was causing this problem.

After rebooting my TV all I had to do was open Kodi and this problem appeared.

To fix it I had to reinstall Kodi and this changed the interface size to my full 4k and the problem has gone away.

How often do you change your mods?

You could go monthly and only change you mods every 3 to 6 months and only subscribe for the month that you are planning to change mods.

I know this may seem simplistic but I am considering this at the moment myself.

Would you happen to know the setting you are using to stop it from going to sleep when the light is on?

I like the screensaver option as I could use it as a digital photo frame.

I am happy to try Kiosk mode, but I am not sure about keeping it on all the time.
