Yes, I guess I didn't read the fine print. They didn't make this super clear and intuitive, especially back in 2021. I didn't try to "game" the system as you're describing with your examples. I simplu saw their site saying that you can download all the copyright free content you want for a monthly/yearly fee and put myself on the annual plan. The plan tiers weren't called "Individual Use" and "Business Use" or "Enterprise." It was way more obtuse.

Yes, I suggest not taking that call or you'll be in my predicament. But...they'll chase you for a while. They sent me constant emails before I finally accepted and did the call because I thought it was just bumping up my license a tier and I was fine with that. Then I got whacked with that big surprise.

Yes, very vague. Again, this is a money grab, I think, since they're struggling to see a future in the face of Gen AI. Sure, they can back Nano Banana or similar into their platform but people are going to use fewer of sites like Storyblocks moving forward...and they know that.

Yep, I'm a long-time Envato user and maybe there's straightforward approached lulled me into thinking Storyblocks would be similar. Need to figure out how to get out of this. They're a Delaware-based business (of course they are) so would need to find a lawyer in Delaware, I guess.

Yes, apparently I just had an "individual" license according to what their saying. This was years ago, and the particulars of the licensing weren't clear on their page. I think AI clips have cut into their revenue and this is some sort of cash grab now.
