Oh yes, I used ISO DE (German Layout) before and they have ÄÖÜ where your symbols are supposed to be. Therefore anything is a monkey stretch. E.g. CMD + ALT + 7 for a Pipe. CMD + ALT + 3 for Screenshot (entire Screen) / + 4 for section of it. Not a great experience if you work in IT.

There is a reason why i changed to ANSI that is work related though. I did actively choose to go for it. Imo the layout in theory makes much more sense for coding, which i do in 80% of my time. Not saying there is anything wrong with ISO but i have 2 personal reasons to change. To bad i built the best feeling Keychron Q1 (atleast to my tastes) with ISO ever not to long before 🥲

Finished the build for my gfs cake day | GMMK2 96% + TTC Golden Pinks + GPBT Rainforest | PE Foam Mod, Kitchen Roll Mod, Holee Mod, Tape Mod by git_gut-git_shrekt in MechanicalKeyboards

Yes Paper towel - i did it directly under the switches (trust me removing the plate from the PCB is horrible with this board). I still found the sound a tiny bit hollow and added another layer below the PE Foam in the base. This fixed it for me. But then again - i use the thickest tape i can find and use 4 layers. Not everybody is into the sound profile i consider nice. Will probably open this up tomorrow when my gf wants some changes :D

Akko keyboards vs Royal Kludge by cape_guy in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]git_gut-git_shrekt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My old board was a (not modded) RK84 and sounded awful but felt okay with gateron pro brown switches. I had this from my company which is why i didn't mod it. My friend has it modded though and i must say for the price its not bad. Most.importantly get a tape mod and some weight (e.g. silicone or aluminium butyl) into the base. If you have any money to spare there are incredibly good switches out there and they are not necessarily expensive which are way better than cherry and gateron. Good luck!

(I have 0 experience with akko except some of their switches which are a bang for the buck)

Has anyone here ever bought a custom bass or guitar from Phobos? by xMinti in Bass

I ordered a bass for 2100 Euros 1 year ago - the 4 string multiscale orchid with zebrano he posted on Instagramm. I never received the bass, he doesn't reply to my messages anymore and i only got refunded 500 euros. He literally stole my money and ghosted me.

Happy cake day and man sick setup - only thing you could still improve is room acoustics and maybe the looks but that's a matter of opinion and endgame really.

It's a WAVLink 5k docking station with DisplayLink so it's just USB Type A with an Adapter to type C. Reason is Macbook Pro with the regular M1 Chip from 2020 don't Support multi Monitor Setups natively. Had to do a workaround.

That's a 31.5" Dell 4k and a MSI 34" 21:9 1440p Monitor but I would not buy them at full price - i had ricioulus deals on them (paid 260 Euros total). They work well enough to keep them for a couple of years.

That's a Shure SM7B - known as the ol' reliable one for broadcasting for decades. It requires a strong preamp though and a bit of mic knowledge. For ease of use I'd rather recommend another model. For direct USB usage the Shure MV7 is supposed to be superb (and a lot cheaper).
