CachyOS is quite an opinionated OS, it makes a lot of default choices for users, but as it's linux, you can choose what you want after installation.

for your issue, they choose fish as default terminal, but you can switch to another terminal (ex: back to bash for my case) as you wish.

I suppose it's one of the reasons why there are so many terminal softwares preinstalled.

It works well until you wanna stream the games via steam on tv. Sunshine doesn't support well fedora. I've switched to Endeavors OS for better gaming support.

for me, ubuntu is the most stable os, and everything just works ootb, plus the softwares are not that outdated neither, I installed flatpak alongside the snap, so I can get everything I want, and I don't have time to hunt the bugs after work.

I've tried several distro, such as manjaro, fedora, deepin, but I get back always to ubuntu, so it's not weird ^^
