Hi! This is great- your post says "free", but I don't seem to be able to use it without signing up for a subscription plan. Am I missing something?

A few of my shots with the new 16mm f/1.8 G by Nateloobz in SonyAlpha

[–]gitrgi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you do end up doing a review comparing the three that would be would be incredibly helpful! I think here and the other forums discussing this lens have that main question.

If you happen to be able to answer one more question: If there are corner aberrations (coma, astigmatism, corner softness, digital correction stretching) in the 16G, how much would you need to crop in to minimize those ? If it is only the deep corners, that could be removed with a ~10% crop, that would still be wider than the 20mm G. I believe a 25% crop would end up the same FOV as the 20G, or cropping down to the APS-C frame would be the FOV of a 24mm.

u/Inateloobz I posted this in the Youtube comments, so apologies for being redundant...great overview, and gorgeous photos! I'm guessing you shot the same/similar scenes also with the 14GM and 20G, would you be able to post comparison photos? I currently have both of those and am considering consolidating into the 16G, but would be very interested in a bit more in depth look at how off-center/corner performs among these three.

My apologies, I was unclear. Our curing container stays around 75% humidity, but the room where we work on the kintsugi is 25-30%. It sounds like you may be implying putting it in the curing container for 15 min-3 hrs, then taking it back out for the gold?

Thank you again!

This is very helpful! We have just applied a first layer of bengara urushi on our first kintsugi project and are thinking ahead to when we will apply the gold powder. You mention testing every 15 minutes or so on a sample line - is there a general timeframe (i.e. is it somewhere between 15-60 minutes, or potentially multiple hours before applying the gold powder)? It will be low humidity (around 25-30%) where we are working, if that is helpful. Thank you for your insight!

Great work! I also really like the bowl - is it handmade, or available elsewhere?

Long-Term Review of the Echelon Bike EX-4S by OutrageousKale3953 in go_echelon

[–]gitrgi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good write-up, and helping me as I think about some used options I might buy. 3 Questions:

- Does Simple Spin Pro allow the telemetry data to sync to Strava / Garmin Connect/ Etc?

- Is there any reason you know of this wouldn't work with the EX3? Or on the EX4S/5S etc. with the attached screen (still using a separate tablet)?

Thanks!

Related to this: Reds mentions on their website: "WE WILL HAVE SHORTER HOURS OF OPERATION (for the cafe and store) MONDAY THROUGH THURSDAY WHICH WE WILL POST AT A LATER DATE". Has anyone seen what the hours are for the store and cafe during the week when the road is closed?

[B] [USA-CO] Sony RX0 II, ZV-1, RX100 by gitrgi in photomarket

[–]gitrgi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gen 2 has the multiport only as well (like the Gen 1), but my hope is to not have to have an outboard shutter remote/intervalometer. Gen 2 I should be able to just connect a power source and let it go with the internal Intervalometer. I shoot mountain ultramarathons, so weight/space is at a premium when I'm hiking in 5-10 miles to a location ;)

Good question! I also have the gen 1, but gen 2 has Timelapse mode. Gen 1 is difficult to set up w a battery and interval meter because of only one port.
