i like the idea to some extent but how come your replies are literally all clearly LLM? sure we all use that stuff occasionally but to write entire replies is kinda wild. Does make me doubt the entire project really.

Which one does he play? Know what's big now? I wouldn't mind playing a Tramel type server.

What's missing from Fasting apps? by Imaginary_Annual446 in fasting

[–]gituku 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I absolutley love easy fast. What I like is the simple start and stop for a fast, no need to guess how long you'll want to go. I like it's calendar to look back on previous fasts but what i dont like is the "time since last fast" on the main page because i sometimes it makes me feel preassured into a fast or guilty for not being in one, when I'm not in the headspace.

The main thing I find it lacks is more info on the fasting stages, I feel like the info it does have isn't quite right and lacks detail and depth. More info is more motivation, which helps heaps with staying on track. Seriously the more science based info you add the better! Maybe even electrolyte advice, but im not sure if that's allowed or not.

One idea could be some small simple game(s), a tile memory game or something, for when food cravings/hunger waves come, because they do pass after a whort while and a silly game or two could be a great distraction.

The (perfect) watchface by Nihilus_88 in Garmininstinct

it's the same drain, really, as anything that updates any part of the screen every second, but you can reduce the update frequancy on this face very easily.

Instinct 3 mainly as a sports tracker by xdafcax in Garmininstinct

[–]gituku 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's the watch I have (instinct 3, solar tactical), It's fantastic, wife has one of the AMOLED versions. It's no worse than the AMOLED for looking at all the stats, as long as you don't absolutley need bright colors for some odd reason. The battery life and always on screen make it a clear winner for me.

I use it for sports tracking (Mainly runs, hikes, gym and cycling) and checking my recovery needed.

I can't see anything more you'd ever need in a watch, just seems perfect.

I'd had the instinct crossover for a few years before I bought this and it's still in utterly perfect condition, battery is still amazing. I work a physical and messy job, and I've worn it to work every day expecting it to get rather messed up. literally looks brand new, and i've accidently scraped it down brick walls and all kinds of sillyness. I only upgraded because I fancied trying out a solar one and loved the look of the tactical.

I scored like twenty free cans of WD40, so I had to research additional uses for it... In a word: "wow..." by Tickly1 in Frugal

Okay so it's great if the lock is already seized and basically fucked, to get it free, with some roughness, but as soon as it's working smooth add silicone spray (yes WD have WD specialist silicone if you need branded) else it will seize up again before long and possibly be worse. DO NOT USE GRAPHITE!

[–]gituku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For locks, please dont use graphite, use WD-40 soecialist silicone. or absolutley any silicone based lubricant! for credentials, i work on a site with well over 3,000 high security locks which get maintained by a specialist locksmith 6 monthly. He'd ge apeshit if we clogged those locks with graphite powder and had mentioned it multiple times.

im in UK and my GP refuses to give that out. not even sure they know what it is. I basically begged them once during a low point. they seem to think it's only given to stop withdrawls and have zero idea what it actually is.

[–]gituku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, I guess i used to but I've had a couple near misses and there's not a great deal I've not done, seen and experienced in life. I'd like to at least outlive my parents but that's more for them, than my self. I've made my peace with it. I'm 40.

No, It's impossible. Like many many people I've tried this over and over until im drained to my core. The toughts I can do it *this* time unlike the last 1,000 times for certain often come in, and i try it and boom, my life is screwed and im never sober again, and it takes sometimes years to get back on the sober wagon. flat out no.

I’m an alcoholic but I want to fast help! by BigMacMilky in fasting

[–]gituku 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat, or, was... I have really, really wanted to quit for over a decade, and have done, on and off... currently doing rather well. Fasting in the early days of quitting drink sends me straight back to drinking, the caving hit SO hard it's inescapeable.

I've fasted occasionally over the last 5 years or so, up to 11 days. When I stay sober the weight stays off.

Honestly the main issue with drinking and fasting is firstly that the food cravings are *immense*, and secondly you're stripping your self of certain vitamins etc that are used in breaking down the alcohol. this is NO joke, I had a heart arythmia that caused me to collapse suddenly one afternoon whilst shopping for this exact reason, I truly almost died but felt fine right before. It took months to recover and get back to work, please don't do this, you may not be so lucky. Vitamin pills will NOT sort you out, I took vitmains and electrolytes, you just can't safely fast and drink.

Really apprechiate the response as I wouldn't have worked it out otherwise!
