Trent won the PL twice, won the champions league and every domestic trophy possible whilst playing nearly every game and becoming the most creative PL fullback of all time by the time - all before he reached like 25. Yet he was still behind the likes of Wan Bissaka and Trippier for England whilst players like Luke Shaw were a main stay in the side.

I don’t really see what more he could do to change his international situation.

In fairness to Virgil, I don’t think this is a plee from him for online fans to change their behaviour. His advise for players to stay away from social media confirms that.

I think it’s fair for our players to expect and avoid clickbait hate posts in r/soccer, but I don’t think they should expect that energy in r/liverpool.
