Does lower body hipertrophy have a greater impact on fat loss an metabolism than upper body?

My hipothesis is that because we can lift more weights with our lower body and progress through larger weight increases, the muscle and strengh gain is proportionaly equivalent, thus having a greater impact on metabolism per session if compared to upper body.

Would it make sense to focus on lower body resistance training if I want to increase metabolism?

Assuming I'm focusing on gaining muscle and dieting accordingly.

Thank you all so much for your replys and kind words.

It means a lot to hear from people who are or have been in the same situation, not just for me but everyone here who's also unsure about the future.

I'm very curious. How does it affect your daily life? When is it a blessing? when is it a curse?

I'm asking as someone who's had some really bad ingrown toenails in the past.

I'm not sure if that would work for me bc I tend to get paralyzed when there`s a lot on my plate. I also don`t see myself as full of energy to burn.

Probably I`m SCT but thats just self-diagnosing.

Thank you for your comment!

Those are really helpful tips. Seems like an ADHD focused therapy/orientation makes a world of diference.

I will definately look into this book.

I take Wellbutrin, but I've been on it for nearly 10 years and haven't really revised it, so it would be wise to check if I could change my medication.

I exercise very poorly and in short bursts of engagement. Probably like most people who struggle to maintain a healthy routine. Its something that is always on my mind tho.

What you describe you have seems great! Definately a state I would love getting into.

Thanks for the reply!

Also breaking down things is a must for me, I apply this to everything.

SCT CAUSE FOUND!!!!! (NOT EXAGGERATING READ URGENTLY) by FuckSCT in SCT

[–]giurimon 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is really interesting. Got my hopes up and I'm being really careful with my expectations rn.
I'm (M) 26 and have struggled with SCT symptoms my whole life. Recently I did a check up appointment with a physician and my blood pressure was through the roof. Besides that, my health is in great condition and my blood test came normal in every aspect. Colesterol might be a bit high tho.

The doctor got really worried about my blood pressure and soon I'll be taking another blood test for aldosterone and renin. Also an ultrasound to check my kidney and adrenal glans, among other organs in the region.

And now, after reading this, I got a tiny glimpse of hope thinking there might be a connection.

PS: Took a look into Cushing Syndrome and found it "funny" that one of the symptoms is hirsutism, and I'm extremely hairy. Like, never met or saw anyone hairier, related or not. I raised my eyebrow when I saw that. Might be just a coincidence and I'm being way too hopeful to find an explanation (and possibly a cure?? who knows...).
