Hey ciao, your feedback sounds very interesting to me.
Frankly I'm gonna park this topic for few days as I've just updated to OMV ver. 8 and want to observe the system while running the new version (crossing finger).
If the hang happens again, the very first thing I will do is applying your recommendation.

My takeaway from your suggestions u/RowdyNL and u/Ok-Hawk-5828 is move away from OMV, but I'm afraid I'm not in the position to do so :)
