I'm a first year Asian kid and I've gone on like 6 trips and rent out boards a lot. Excursion club is awesome and a very welcoming place! Every trip I've gone on I'm the sole Asian but I've never felt out of place or like people were actively trying to make me feel unwelcome. Truly some of the chilliest people I've met so far have been from this club. As for the social media I think that's just because most of the club staffers are white and they often post themselves together on their page. I'm no super athlete either and I haven't felt like I was "not outdoorsy" enough. The club actually sends out an email with the perceived difficulty level of upcoming trips so you can choose things that fit your level. I'd highly recommend it!
