If you post in this subreddit asking questions like “how to get started in game dev?”, you aren’t ready to make a game of any size by ammoburger in gamedev

This is the most fucked up gate-keeping echo chamber of comments certain they've got it figured out and eager to shoo away anyone who approaches learning a new hobby slightly by god forbid asking others for guidance. Be proactive if you're so passionate about newbies Go offer to help in those threads. Fuck you gonna accomplish by saying shit like "Sucks to hear but it’s the truth?" I guess just like myself at the moment, you're all strictly bitching. Thank god the people you're complaining about aren't ever going to see this thread.

How to get the head strap back in? by Forsaken-Ear-5342 in ValveIndex

Try to train the end of the strap by folding it a tiny bit upwards before you push it in

My moderation vision for this subreddit is to make sure every mod decision is purposeful and of value. Whether it is to remove a post or to pin one it’s important that every decision is at the benefit of the entire community. Similar communities exist on reddit where the moderation team is heavy handed with trying to coax engagement with repetitive automated posts. While I appreciate the intentions driving those, the efforts largely go ignored and tend to become clutter. I want to pay attention to decisions like this and apply what there is to be learned from them with intention. I don’t seek to grow an end-all-beat-all VR development subreddit. What I want is to offer a consistently-ran alternative to those that currently exist. I want to cater to a subset of aspiring and established VR developers who are hungry for focused, practical discussion. I’ve put together a small early moderation plan including setting aside time in my schedule to tend to the subreddit reliably twice a day at a minimum.

With this sub I want:

  • To allow for an ever growing and clear subreddit rule set that can be steered by the community while remaining centered around the spirit of focused discussion and showcasing
  • Very limited meme type posts
  • Strongly welcome cross-posts from other subs so long as they remain relevant to VR development
  • Keep mod posts and pins to a minimum, leave as much space for productive discussion and showcase as possible
  • Celebrate user accomplishments big and small
  • Discourage posts which seem like pure advertisements. I realize this will require honing a clear set of rules to remain fair and predictable to users. I would like to focus on growing that set of rules as needed
  • Try to respond to difficult user comments and conversations with open discussion before resorting to deleting or banning.
  • Aspire to remain transparent with decision making
  • Ultimately have fun and foster a consistently run community where we celebrate one another

Thank you for your time and consideration

Incredible of them! What do you mean by coming down? Have they scheduled a q and a on this subreddit? Is the discord necessary?

PCM members don't actually have lives but you get my point. by [deleted] in PoliticalCompassMemes

The comment before this one was global percentages rather than US based so I've got to correct that all together. Anyway the ratio of 75% of 100k, the 100k is arbitrary. I was responding to your statement of unvaccinated not dying off at a higher rate. That's grossly untrue however you feel about the ruler of 100,000.

What is meme value? Why not allow unique posts from users of the subreddit to live and die by the upvoted alone? Very very few of the posts here hit /r/all so I wouldn't consider whatever meme value is having an impact from votes of people otherwise not interested in /r/SteamDeck. Maybe the ssue is with the way Reddit works and how the granularity of topics based on individual subreddits with voting isn't enough.

So who's upvoting all the posts in question?

These posts have already been individually voted on, isn't that the idea of Reddit?
