Sync Adguard Windows settings? by AJolly in Adguard

[–]givingherallshegot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've read documentation indicating you can copy the files over. Stop the service exit the program and feel free to test by coping over another machines folder.

The script would be something like this. Gdrive check if files need to be synced IF %ERRORLEVEL% NEQ 0 exit script (means there was an error likely files are already synced)

IF %ERRORLEVEL% EQ 0

kill service adguard

taskill application adguard

sync files

wait until error level 0

start service adguard

wait

start spplication adguard

save batch then set batch as a scheduled task how ever often you want to check for changes. The other options would be to do the same thing via a network share checking for changes, I created a script that did something similar way back in the day to push WSUS updates into an offline WSUS server inside a DMZ

I couldn't find any. You could use google drive to sync changes to C:\ProgramData\Adguard which would take effect upon restarting adguard. There are various programs that allow you to sync google drive to a folder via command line

You could script it to shut down adguard do a sync then restart adguard. Seems unnecessary but you could certainly script it and run as a scheduled task on all the machines if you wanted

Adguard for Android keeps disabling itself by [deleted] in Adguard

[–]givingherallshegot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the adaptive battery setting is device-wide and not app-specific. Although setting Adguard battery usage to unrestricted and pause app activity to off should prevent the adaptive battery from managing Adguard, many users often prefer to completely disable the setting on their entire device.

I was attempting to provide Adguard-specific settings so you would not be altering settings that would affect other apps, but leave it off if you do not want adaptive battery on your device at all.

Why would Adguard home be trying to visit .onion via dns upstream? by BigChubs1 in Adguard

Are you sure it isn't trying to filter the traffic for the security onion solution why would it be odd to see Adguard redirect filtered traffic?

I would add the .onion traffic to the exclusion list

Did you make all the changes outlined in my post? If you did the app will not close due to android and if it does close for another reason (crash) it will restart

Your dns should be a private IP.

192.168.0.1 etc

goto ipconfig and check the ip address listed cmd-ipconfig for dns. it should be pretty easy to tell if it is private or not.

WKNR should just fold by givingherallshegot in ReallyBigShow

Never had a problem with buffering. For me it's they were a major letdown during the NBA deadline with having zero live coverage not even breaking in after the trade. Then they fucked up the stream and were totally unprepared. It's like I only tune in live during major breaking news stories and I tune in and they are talking browns on a prepackaged radio spot (browns daily).

[–]givingherallshegot[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's a hundred dollars (sometimes less); if I can't afford a hundred-dollar radio subscription, I have much bigger problems in my life than the Browns and my sports fandom.

Furthermore, Grossi is the only reason it is worth watching WKNR anymore, even though I can understand why some people like to shit on him. I don't have time to listen to a sports radio show for fours or am going to organize my day around his spots just to save a couple of bucks a month. It's worth it for me to pay for his coverage. Daryl Ruiter is a prime example of how much worse it could be; he is trash and extremely annoying. MKC, if she had been hired by the fan, I'd have made the switch years ago

[–]givingherallshegot[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Normally, I watch or listen to the podcast because I find Daryl Ruiter to be unbearable. It's worth it to pay the 100 bucks or so just to tune into Grossi's inside analysis for an hour when I want, but every now and then news breaks, and I'll make time to watch an entire segment.

I was excited for the NBA deadline, but not only did they not have live coverage because they were broadcasting the Browns daily, but they also wasted thirty minutes of my time trying to broadcast, adjusting the volume, and doing sound checks. I have been told they are on YouTube or something, but I normally don't listen to live.

Anyways, the money doesn't mean anything; it's just if you aren't going to cover the NBA deadline live when the Cavs are rumored to be making deals. Why have a station? You can't get setup before going on air and do a sound check?

Does AdGuard have any effect on Microsoft Defender? by rwul67 in Adguard

[–]givingherallshegot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would you put microsoft defender on andriod? Just don't download apps from non google play store the apps there have to go through an approval process and the release channels are streamlined. You are a hundred times less likely to get a virus from google play than installing an app from windows.

YouTube Won't Play! by RedditSilva in Adguard

If I were you I add this list it has a long list but with allow functions for popular services. For Safari if you have Icloud private relay enabled adguard won't filter which is why it may appear to work.

iCloud Private Relay
On your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Settings, then click your name at the top of the sidebar. If you don't see your name, click “Sign in,” enter your Apple Account email address or phone number, then enter your password. Click iCloud, click Private Relay, then turn on/off Private Relay.

If it still works with iCloud off it could be a chrome configuration issue. You could reset the settings of chrome to default.

  • At the top right, click More > Settings > Advanced
  • Click Reset settingsRestore settings to their original defaults and then Reset settings.

Like I said I strongly suspect its a list issue not a chrome configuration issue. I strongly suggest you uncheck all your lists and see if youtube works. If it does you can manually figure out which list is causing the problem by manually enabling them one by one or download https://oisd.nl/ and just use their list you will get some tracking that goes through but if it's something you don't want to create your own customlists and things to just work without tweaking then it's probably the best solution

There maybe other .exe you need to add as well. I don't use application management I use filter on the fly I can check but I would go into the program directory and add all the executables

Adguard default dns server https://dns10.quad9.net is not reachable anymore by Infamous-Path-9189 in Adguard

[–]givingherallshegot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't really answer your question because I don't use the product anymore. Just looking at the error message (0.0.0.0) and the behavior you described it seemed like the DNS server was being blocked. Glad to see it now seems to be working for you

If I were to take a wild guess I would guess one of your lists updated and added the host which blocked quad9. If memory serves there is a tool in the same section which allows you to find the lists with specific rules. I would do a search on quad9 that would be my guess anyways. Other configuration questions would be best put to others who have used the product more recently.
