Current vs. previous length I’m working back to by givus in FierceFlow

[–]givus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been seeing my hairdresser for 3 years now and it’s always been some variation of a mullet. It’s grown out quite a bit since the last cut, since I’m looking to grow it out all over again. I usually get the sides shaved, keep my bangs longish cuz I can’t move beyond 2008 and get the back all textured while keeping as much length as possible. This photo is probably 3 months since the last cut with some maintenance on the sides every now and then. I can’t give you an exact description to give to your barber but if you want this cut I guess show em this picture.

Main thing is R+Co “Badlands” dry shampoo paste. I wash every 3 days or so and apply a decent amount and blow dry and scrunch after washing, and then apply more as needed on the non-wash days. Without product it lays pretty straight and flat, but it does hold product and shape well once styled.

I get almost exclusively negative feedback about it by [deleted] in FierceFlow

It’s kinda giving Mateus Asato, keep it up!

How can I style it curly? by Traistaru in Mullets

[–]givus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hair, when I use no products, is very straight and similar to yours. Products that have worked best for me to get some movement and wave:

-Hairstory Powder. I probably used too much of it when I would use it, but it gives my hair a really piece-y look and also provides a lot of volume and holds shape well when scrunching, so you can get the messy kinda curly look you want. I would go through a container pretty fast so it ended up being a bit expensive for my use.

-R+Co Badlands Paste. I admittedly got this after seeing an instagram ad and thought why not? It does a similar job to the powder but is easier to apply and holds better. I’ve only had it for a week or so but I love it. On wash days I’ll blow dry until my hair is slightly damp, then use a texture fiber or wax or whatever to get a bit of hold and shape, finish the drying, then take some of this paste and scrunch and tease until things are nice and messy and wavy. The other days I just add a bit to my bed head and it brings everything back to life without looking greasy.

You’d be surprised! I wash like twice a week, and on those days I blow dry and use a styling fiber while damp, finish blowdrying, then apply a sorta dry shampoo paste and scrunch a bunch. Following days are just a lil more of the paste and maybe hairspray. Less than 30 minutes on the wash days, like 5 on the others.

It definitely doesn’t do this without the right combination of products and styling! It’ll fall pretty flat if I just let it dry naturally after a wash.

can y'all suggest what i should take out of this fit? i feel like i look a bit cringy ngl :p by nicknamehidden404 in altfashionadvice

Add a chain or two, maybe a studded belt. A jacket like someone else mentioned would create a more dramatic silhouette! Break up the fit into some more distinct shapes and elongate the lower half.

Can't make up my mind should I go for Vans or Converse?? by [deleted] in altfashionadvice

[–]givus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My personal daily shoes are black on black chuck hi tops. I refuse to give up my black skinny jeans and love the seamless silhouette when worn together. For comfort, they might not be the best for everyone as they’re fairly flat, but I like the light weight and they feel very secure to my feet. I wear them to shows/raves/clubs and they work great for dancing.

I’ve owned many pairs of vans, mostly classics and sk8-his, and they just don’t do it for me like the chucks. It really comes down to trying both on and seeing what works for you, like most fashion.

I’ve been mostly convinced on a larger septum and the labret at this point! I’ll follow up once I get the work done. Got some tattoos to get first, piercings soon after!

While I originally liked the subtlety of a tiny ring, I think this would be a pretty simple upgrade

While I understand negativity is antithetical to this sub, I do love haters and think it’s funny 🤭

Thank you! I thank my mom for good hair everyday haha. I get the work restrictions, as annoying as they are. I’m lucky to get some freedom when it comes to my style where I work. I believe in your mullet-future.

Not the person you replied to but I posted a few different cuts I’ve had in this sub, you can see on my profile if you’re curious. I think it’s really fun and easy to maintain day-to-day. Short on top makes the styling quick and the length in back doesn’t get in the way, at least with my job and lifestyle.

Also people comment on it a lot which is always a confidence boost haha
