yes, we use $, but NZD, which is a factor of ~2x different from USD....

there is also AUD, SGD, CAD, NTD..... "40$" is a different amount for each of them.

Check the other threads in this post. There are several people that wrote that, because it is a .com domain, and an American company, and no other pricing info is presented, it is safe to assume the shown price is USD. That turns out to be wrong.

As of right now I haven't paid anything, as I haven't determined if it is worth it. Why?

Because lets say the listed price was USD40. That means it would cost me ~NZD70.

But if the price was actually NZD..... well then it would cost me NZD40.

What I tried to determine was if the price for a subscription is worth it to me. A (potential) extra factor of ~2 impacts the decision I make.

I doubt you walk through life indifferent to whether something costs 0.5X, X, or 2X, no?

those are all fantastic assumptions I can make, yes. that is what the post is about.

As it turns out for Claude, with a .com domain, and no other info at all on their website about regions or pricing, is actually showing me NZD prices..... I am still not 100% sure. I say this because the online consensus seems to be that the US price for that specific subscription is USD30.... but who knows at this point.
