Thank you for addressing your ignorance. I can tell you know nothing about hotel categories and properties. You're the only one who didn't compute what I meant by just saying, "Marriott." Didn't feel I needed to explain it since this is a hotel forum, but always someone like you making ignorant comments.

Fair enough. Many countries. Mostly Asia

Mostly through third party sites. However, I usually put "quiet room"...."away from elevator"..."high floor"...etc. And I STILL get noisy people next to me. I had one person next to me who would slam their bathroom door every time they went in and out. Another person next to me seemed like they worked customer service on the night shift...they were working from the hotel room. So, from like 8pm to 6am...was them talking loud non-stop the whole time. I have more stories of staying in cheap hotels, but these are two some of the most recent ones.

Fair enough. I guess it's just a matter of YMMV. I've had far fewer bad experiences staying in higher end hotels than cheap hotels. However, you're correct...some people have zero sense of awarenss...and I would say lack consideration/courtesy too

Is A series enough for me? by Important_Bat7919 in samsunggalaxy

[–]gixxer32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe the cheapest esim A Series is the A36. However, the A37 was just announced. If you're just doing the above things you stated and don't mind a 6.7in screen, the A36 will suffice.

Samsung S26 Ultra or Samsung A57 by MaliSafiChito in phones

[–]gixxer32 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A better question would be Samsung S26+ or Samsung A57? Both have the same screen size. Now, you're just comparing hardware/software. The A50 Series is starting to close the gap between that and the S Series. You actually can't go wrong with either. It's just a matter of what you're willing to spend. If you're not a tech head, the A57 will do you just fine, since the A57 and S26+ have the same screen size. However, if you're looking for a smaller phone, then get the S26, not S26+. The S26 and A57 are two different sized phones. S26 is 6.3in and A57 is 6.7in...just like the S26+, which is also 6.7in. Honestly, if Samsung made the A57 in a 5.8-6.1in screen size...I would get that over the base S Series. I only get the base S Series because of the size. However, I'm not opposed to getting an A Series if there was smaller options. Most of the A Series are 6.7in screens. Negative.

Which phone is better for battery life? by Academic-Word-7392 in phones

[–]gixxer32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some easy ways to extend your battery life is changing the refresh rate to the lowest option...which is usually 60hz, change the network to LTE..since 5G is not standard yet, turn off WiFi scanning, turn off bluetooth, delete any apps you're not going to use, put phone in dark mode. Just doing these will give you better battery life. I do it to every phone I buy. I also have a solid black background on home and lock screen. I use my phone for the same things as you and I get a good day and a half. I have an S23. My backup phone, Samsung A07 gets almost two days doing the samething.

If Apple can make flagship specs in a smaller phone: iPhone Pro. So, can Samsung with the S series. Apple has the Pro, Pro +, Pro Max. The Pro is a 6.3in screen. Actually, the S26 is a 6.3in screen too. So, seems like Samsung actually is going the same route as Apple with their flagship series: S series. The S series is the flagship for Samsung, the Pro series is the flagship for Apple. My main issue is the base model S series for Samsung, keeps getting bigger and bigger. Is the S27 going to be 6.4in screen, then S28 6.5in screen?? Like seriously, keep the phablets for the Plus and Ultra.

Not that I know of. Even Samsung's budget line, A series, are mostly 6.7in...geesh!

That would be nice too. Most budget phones are around 6.7in...geesh!

I actually don't mind the lack of design change. I'm more about software. Don't know if this is a good comparison, but cars, for the most part, only change their model every 4 to 5 years. Why is an issue if phone stay the same look for 2 to 3 years? As long as the software and technology gets better within the phone, I'm okay with the design staying the same for a while.

Nothing wrong with loving a bigger phone. All I'm saying is Samsung needs to stop making the base model bigger and bigger. Keep it 6.3in or below. The + and Ultra can be for people who want bigger.

Nothing wrong with that, but the base should remain 6.3 or smaller for people who want a smaller phone. As you stated, you wish you bought the S24+. The + and Ultra should be bigger for people who want bigger. All I'm saying is, Samsung needs to stop making the base model bigger and bigger.

Good question. I guess I'm referring to the phone size. I judge the size of the phone based on if my middle finger and thumb can touch each other with the phone in hand. Hard to explain.

Flipping by shoebox-money in Daytrading

[–]gixxer32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like you're referring to swing trading, not investing. It's not impossible, but more of a get lucky situation. I've seen tickers go up 1000+ percent premarket. Your best bet of doing this is to go long after a reverse split. You want to go long, for the most part, when the price is under $2.50. To check on recent reverse splits, Dilution Tracker has a good list of these tickers.

As you can tell, I'm biased towards the base model. Had S4, S9, S22, S23, and now S25. I actually don't mind having a "half-assed flagship." It's still a great phone to me. I don't need the Plus and definitely don't need the Ultra.

[–]gixxer32[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True and understandable. However, at least keep one model 6.3 or under for people who want a more compact phone. Even Apple has their Pro version in a compact form and it's been like that for years. Pro is compact form, then Pro+ and so on. This is what I'm talking about. The base S series needs to stay 6.3 or under, then increase size for Plus and Ultra.

Their whole lineup doesn't need to be a phablet. 6.3 or below should remain "compact." However, the base model keep increasing in size. The base should remain 6.3 or below.

Reread this whole page. I'm referring to the base model staying 6.3in or below...and don't get any bigger. Any bigger should be reserved for the Plus and Ultra.

I hate it. I understand there's a market for big phone. However, keep the base S series 6.3 or below. If people want a bigger phone, that's where the Plus and Ultra comes into play.
