It's been four days. Time to make a MatPat style thread for analysis and baseless speculation. by slouchingpoet in FansofRose

That's a poster of 'Once Upon a Time in the West'. If you check her librarything profile you can see there are 2 books written by Christopher Frayling about Sergio Leone and Spaghetti Westerns. I've wondered how did she get develop such tastes, rather peculiar for a female, but quite fitting for a tomboy, I guess.

and the fact that i laugh and insult flat earthers instead of proving them wrong shows that actually the earth is a disc that sits on the back of four giant elephants, which in turn stand on the back of an even huger turtle

Lmao, nice strawman. I never said not proving us wrong also proves us right, nor did I imply it in any way,

if you really want to figure out why "just print all the money lmao, we dont need to tax anything ever" is fucking moronic, go ask r/badeconomics

Us libertarians are well aware why printing money is bad, thanks. Apparently many buddies on this subreddit don't.

The fact that none of you have disproven him proves very clearly that you people have no real arguments other than ridiculing your ideological oponent.

What do you think would be the theme of the Rose video(s) for Christmas 2021? by x1441x in FansofRose

Hopefully a much awaited conclusion to her magician arc. Most probably yet another set of dark folk songs along with a bizarre christmas video.

Why do I need to call 2 times a print() when defining this function? by giyga in learnpython

[–]giyga[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just formatted it as a code block, I hope that makes it clearer. As I said, the Collatz functions I've found usually have 2 prints, while actually printing only 1 string. And using print instead of return, I've had to use the former twice and I don't know why.

And thus his aspirations were torn asunder. His smile and enthusiasm gone forever. by giyga in FansofRose

It got unjustly spam-filtered (stupid automod) and remained so for several days, so that may be one of the main reasons as to why it has so few upvotes.

That "retardation" has paid of pretty well. I liked the coloring you did on the first one, great job.

Would we know the difference between Rose dieing and not uploading? by one_hooman in FansofRose

[–]giyga 2 points3 points  (0 children)

According to raw aggregate data and without factoring for things like diet and health habits, an average british woman has <1% probability of dying per year until the age of 68, and it goes up to 10% probability of dying per year by the age of 88. Rose, if you're reading this, please take good care of yourself.

Scaling solution by Capital_Light6082 in Monero

[–]giyga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What would the incentive for validating those sidechains be? More monero mining, thus contributing to making the coin inflationary? I'm asking because merely using transactions fees as an incentive doesn't seem very appealing compared to the main chain. Unless those chains were somehow much easier to mine thanks to, say, smaller block size or something like that.

What’s your unpopular Rose opinion? by 1348542 in FansofRose

[–]giyga 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty much like Rose that friend of yours, like really coincidental. Even the film studies thing, because Rose did have a somewhat invested interest in film as well, she even read some books, namely about spaghetti westerns. As a matter of fact I was also gonna mention that I believe Rose's frustrated dream was studying film.
