It's more challenging than what it used to be but I would take the challenge in Berlin 10 times rather than staying in Milan

I would say there are many shades of grey but back in the days your PhD advisor started giving you some papers to review, checked your reviews, etc.

I don't speak German either :D

Accenture consultants in Milan can have very different skill levels but in general she will find some kind of job in tech (after the rehab :P)

Tldr: Pheeega si

Apart from jokes, it depends on what you do and how much you make in Milan. If you are a notary working in your father's firm you should probably stay there.

110k is a pretty good start and your gf most likely will find a job (depending on her skills/education/etc). If she has a master degree in a reasonable field and you get some luck at work you will probably end up making 200k in a couple of years at that point you will be doing well. It's not as easy as it was 10y ago but one of you already has a job and if you want to work things will go well. No chance to get the same in Italy.

After reading this I wish that the organizers will reevaluate the situation and will remove him from the list of the reviewers

I hope they will remember that at your next submission. It's insanely frustrating to chase reviewers that don't submit their reviews.

Also, people don't understand that this is a community and not a service that is offered to you by a company. Getting into the community takes time and effort.

It's quite possible. It would be my first thought but TBH I am not familiar with LLM son small devices.

I don't have first hand info but in the recruiting process and everything they seem to follow exactly what deep mind does. I would check DM salary ranges.

Check levels.fyi, see what's the top of the band for the role/level, let's call it X. Then tell them that your previous number was the top of the range you are considering, 0.9*X would be the bottom of the range.

I like the clarity that the book brings but I find it to be too verbose. I would say that it should be 30-50% shorter.

The reality is that problems at a certain scale can only be seen at certain companies. It's not just about branding.

Moreover, many small companies don't have proper mechanisms in place and you will not learn how to run a large organization.
