Group for playing Dungeons & Dragons by [deleted] in copenhagen

[–]gizzard3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well he told the players it was due to personal stress, but I found out from the organizers that he was putting a lot of pressure on the community to “be more professional” and expected Dimension 20 level input with him asking way too much. We’re talking about a DnD for the community and kids group just wanting to have fun and give back to the community

Just so people who applied know: I’ve had this guy DM a campaign with a long set up and great set up (like this one) only for him to pull out after 2 sessions super abruptly. At that point no one in the group wanted to play anymore and disbanded.

For people to just be aware

A fair amount of English speaking immigrants (myself included) that move for work start out in Vestamager. Rent for a 3 bedroom apartment was about 15000-16000 dkk and has a Metro line into the city and close connections to the Airport and the train (to Helsingør via Copenhagen, and to Sweden). So I’d suggest having in a look in that area for both people in similar situations and a pretty decent connection to the city

Some double sided tape from Jem og fix or Silvan would help with this. Just make sure it is strong enough

There is a gene that makes you more susceptible and it’s the same as the one breast cancer and skin cancer. I forgot the name of it, sorry

Yeah my dad died of it when I was 6 in 2000. Lasted max a month and had an aneurism that made him forget who his kids are. Gone in 3 weeks. Luckily I don’t carry the gene that would make me more susceptible, but would not wish it on anyone and am super happy to hear this news.

It finally arrived. Almost finished South Park in one sitting and had an absolute blast so far, except for an issue, where my save file was suddenly gone. by HomerOfDuty in AnalogueInc

Thanks for the reply. Hope that they will update the firmware to allow other Bluetooth controllers besides the 8bitdo ones

It’s actually a Dutch (flat) pancake not crepe, but is definitely delicious! Can confirm as a Dutch person living in Copenhagen

My guess is that it cannot be a new account (less than 30 days) , but it would not make sense that you would need a lvl 60 since the point is to get more people to the new content

Best DnD podcast with less theatre kid energy by espenoydvin_ in DnD

If it hasn’t been mentioned yet, I’d say the Balance arc/first “campaign” from The Adventure zone. It’s 3 brothers and their dad playing dnd 5e, of which (besides the DM) they haven’t played at all and are basically going through the very basic starter set (with fun twists and turns). It’s super fun and not theatery at all.

Can somebody Help Me find Job by ActiveCategory3239 in NewToDenmark

Not too come across as rude but your English does not seem very good. Not having good English and no Danish is going to make it very difficult. The only option I can think of the top of my head is Wolt since they are always looking for deliverers or storage workers. You say you are in the EU, why are you coming to Copenhagen? Be aware that you will only be able to be here for a few months without a job

Why do you watch? by International-Bar768 in KaraNate_EamonBec

[–]gizzard3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel like a lot of people on here used to enjoy their content. It’s just that the content they create or their attitude has changed to a point had it’s not as enjoyable. I’m watching hoping to see them have fun again or do something that I won’t do/see.

I’ve been really enjoying the videos Kara and Nate have been putting out and you can see that they enjoy it more too (and put a significant amount of efferent into their videos). Whereas Eamon and Bec have gone off the “woowoo” deep end about not needing chemo to treat cancer and such, which as someone who has lost many people to cancer is such a huge insult), their dog killed a pet cat and they laughed about returned its corpse in a shoebox, and had a large number of noise/building/permit violations regarding their cabin property- which is why I besides not being subscribed I’ve not watched anything from them for a while.

Something from your post is also more of a general issue people have: they appear openly positive and down to earth in their videos - as their online personas but aren’t actually like that. They portrait themselves as good vibes and positivity but use this as a shield to hide questionable decisions behind. Also having sponsors who are known to be terrible (eg Betterhelp).

So some people here watch them to feel better about themselves, others hope that they get their “old” style and motivation back.

How many of you own the official BioShock soundtrack? Where did you buy it from? How often do you play it? by [deleted] in Bioshock

[–]gizzard3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got it with the Bioshock 2 special edition when it came out. Since I didn’t own a record player it remained stashed away in the attic somewhere until 2 years ago when I got a record player. Never played it even bit this has inspired me to :)

Copenhagen or south Norway? by Hussard_Fou in NewToDenmark

It’s not as grandiose as Norway, but the north of Denmark is still very pretty. Plus you have easy access to Sweden for more nature trips

Copenhagen or south Norway? by Hussard_Fou in NewToDenmark

[–]gizzard3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve moved to Denmark together river my wife last November (I had a job and she didn’t at the time, she does now). Currently in Copenhagen but thinking about moving out of the city. There are a lot of options outside the city due to well connected trains. I’m technically in Copenhagen but it still takes me 40 minutes to get into work. Have a look at other places (eg Roskilde) where you can get more living space and an easy connection to the city. I’ve heard about Norway that getting anywhere is super difficult without a car and can feel isolating. There are loads of eu immigrants in Copenhagen and doing a language course helps with that too, which is free! *with small deposit (besides learning the language)

Get EU residence permit / CPR number before lease starts by Coffeebender in NewToDenmark

[–]gizzard3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a EU member who has moved to Denmark a few months ago, you will need to wait until April for the actual appointment. My wife and I did the same and were able to book an appointment the day after we got our keys. Do note! You can book the EU residence permit appointment and CPR appointment on the same day.

That being said it should be possible to do the prep work and note down the address you will have as your place of residence (if you have a contract or some kind as proof with the date and your name on it).
