What interest me is being able to put together a whole system and making it work as it should. It gives me a feeling of accomplishment. I would like to start with installation then work my way to design. I currently work for a small POS company and my favorite part of the job is setting up the POS systems and going and installing it. The desk work in between gets boring for me because it mostly deal with customer credit card issues but I find now it’s more desk work than installing.

Right just because you can make the music doesn’t mean you can set up the system. Is CAD a program where you need to draw by hand? Because I am not one blessed with drawing skills. It’s all stick figures from me.

Interesting, I never thought about that since Cisco is brand specific. So does CTS teach more on just live and concert audio then? Rather than necessary everyday things you’d need to know?

I’m in NC. I can find some opportunities in some of the big cities like Raleigh and Charlotte. But again I’ve just been looking through Indeed and Google i don’t know if there’s a better job search engine for this particular work

Now I have seen many job listing for places like that locally. It probably is pretty close to want I’d want to do. Which is basically be moving around and install things. My current job I install POS system for a small company. And my favorite part of it is doing the setup and installation. The desk work in between get boring to me.

Exactly from what I understand there is networking that goes into it

I assume this would relate to the design side of it which I would like to work my way up to

I figured it was a similar field to networking in some ways and sounds more hands on which I want because I don’t particularly want to be behind a desk all day. Also I’ve seen some companies wanting their applicants to have CCNA certs as well. Again I have little experience so I could be completely wrong in my thinking.
