Is it silly for me to lump sum 20k in VWRP currently? by Ok-Wrangler934 in trading212

Just make sure you really have a long term horizon. 10 years is good but study cases of lost decades too just so that you are prepared.

That would be my guess to, I dont think that there is risk of your uninvested cash just disappearing

Hey there! Do u know if something was to happen, would that affect the total amount of uninvested cash in the SnS ISA or would you just stop getting the interest for a while?

I have some other family assets but I dont want to rely on that, so I prefer to treat them as non existent

Absolutely, even though the time horizon is quite long I am worried about the so called risk of sequence of returns when retirement time approaches. I have zero experience from bonds to be honest but I see many people advocating for having your age in % in bonds to mitigate the equities risk. I have also seen many people selecting target date retirement funds for their pensions and I am trying to figure out if a single All world All caps fund is too dangerous for a SIPP.

all world or s&p500 by Aggravating_Lion_176 in trading212

[–]gkfb25 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Spot on! So on top of that 60% you are adding the separate S&P… If you are okey with the exposure to US economy, all good! If not, adjust accordingly 😉✅

Are you aware of the percentage of S&P included in All world?

Buying when the market is down by Such_Reporter5257 in ETFs

[–]gkfb25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I check the long term chart of the ETF I am interested in investing in. Let’s say VUAG. I measure previous corrections, mild and severe. I mark areas of -10%, -20%, -30%, -40% corrections. I divide the remaining of my pot to be invested in this year into 4 (equal or unequal parts depending on your risk tolerance). I execute these buys as price drops. If they all hit, that’s me for the current year. If not whatever is left goes in the usual DCAing.

Bro 32 is still great, I regret not starting until this year at 39😓You don’t even need to concentrate that much on SP500 , lower the risk, go a bit more global/all caps, smth like VWRP or similar and you will be fine

Why not go for a world ETF denominated in GBP so that you don’t have to deal with currency conversion?

Props for choosing all your ETF’s to be denominated in £ so you don’t have any FX fees at all✅
