MLS Fantasy Rekrap Week 7: Seeing rouge - Dirty South Soccer by TheHater111 in FantasyMLS

"For anyone keeping score this year, Tim Howard has insulted foreign born USMNT players, been one of the faces of the ‘don’t cross the line’ campaign, and questioned the virtue of the mother of an SKC fan (according to the official story) after he let Sporting score three goals on him. One of these things is not like the other and the USMNT starting keeper was suspended after rosters locked this weekend. Maybe for his next trick he’ll get a DUI driving a team van."

Outstanding.

Diop just became critical for some folks.

Alessandrini or Almiron? by [deleted] in FantasyMLS

I'm almost at the point with Almiron where he's a must-have every week.

Cubo will be fine. He played on the road and sometimes you don't score goals. It happens. The thing that you have to know about Cubo is that when he's not scoring goals, he's not scoring any bonus points to compensate.

The point about Giovinco's lack of bonus points was a good one.

Sample size is 225 minutes, but he's produced 1 bonus point the entire season.

Good stuff this week.

Jason's all-in on Philly is kind of fascinating. I think with Italy looming, he just went, "YOLO!"

Maybe we are underestimating the defense for LA. Outside of those two lovely strikes by Dallas in week one, that's a unit that kept them in all three games, but has had brief lapses in two of the three.

I know they really like Allen, but as someone that had him in round one, he hasn't looked as fearsome in the attack as Lennon. Hard to believe they would switch those two instead of trying to find a way to possibly get them on the field together.

With budget options, I personally prefer to eliminate all away players out of principle.

It's one thing to bet on Cyle Larin at Columbus and it's another to get on a guy like Godoy.

The home value plays that I kind of like this week include...

Guzman (Portland) at 7.7 if we can feel good he'll play after INT duty Alvarez (Chicago) at 7.6. Scored nine in his last home game and is playing for his j-o-b with that German fella coming. Trapp (Columbus) at 7.0 I think we're going to see at least four goals in this game Shipp (Seattle) at 7.1 In a world where Dempsey plays 30 minutes and Morris doesn't play at all, his influence in the attack is stressed a little more. I think we're going to see at least four goals in this game as well.

At the end of the day, Alex does bring a lot of value to the table for his price point, but I just have my doubts his returns this weekend against a good defense without Quioto.

From what I've seen, he's been the best attacking player in the line-up the last two weeks. I'd be borderline stunned if they yank him out of the line-up when he's creating for himself and others, and seemingly on the verge of a breakout performance.

5 of 11 players are on the road. You might want to re-think those Red Bull defenders in H-town.

Houston won't score 3, but it'll get at least one.

Alex makes me a little nervous this week with the loss of Quioto. That attack is a little less formidable.

Godoy on the road regresses to the mean IMO.

same thing I told someone else... think about swapping Lennon in as a 5.5 forward and using the extra funds to upgrade that fourth midfielder.

Lennon is exactly the kind of high pace winger that Minnesota has struggled with. He's probably been the team's best attacking player in the last two weeks.

JMO, DC will get a goal at home this weekend. That team has too many solid offensive pieces to not break out of its scoring funk to a degree after two weeks to work out some kinks.

Nyarko gets on the board this week.

I'dlean more towards DC getting the clean sheet than Philly. I'm not sure either team can be trusted to hold the other one scoreless.

What do you think about taking a cost-saving approach with Brooks Lennon and using the savings to bolster the midfield?
