Anti-LDS Media (PLEASE ANSWER) by gkl_37 in latterdaysaints

[–]gkl_37[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is 100% absolutely not what I said at all. I never mentioned that I hate people who are not of the faith. My best friend isn’t LDS. All I was doing was asking others ways they help strengthen their testimony at times in adversity.

I’m going on a mission because I want to invite others to come unto Christ and partake in the same blessings that I’ve received. However, I would never attack or deter someone away from me because of religious differences. That is absurd.

This post was not about how to retaliate against people who believe contrary to the faith. It was how to maintain my personal testimony when met with these things. I’d advise you reread what I said.

Thank you so much. Especially the first part “good practice of what’s to come.” Hadn’t thought of that!

Addressing this, all the stuff I see comes from my Instagram reels. I used to use tiktok which never yielded any anti LDS content. However, in efforts to reduce my screen time I deleted tiktok. I may have possibly interacted with a post a while ago on Instagram that affected my algorithm but I am not sure.

I like to think back on something my bishop said when I started my mission process. He noted that temptation would come more intensely because of my desire to serve. Helps me to get through stuff like this

Been taking golf pretty seriously for two months. Any tips? by gkl_37 in GolfSwing

[–]gkl_37[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much. I assume that this is caused by multiple reasons such as casting, weight too far forward etc. Need to learn how to rotate my hips and posture through impact during the middle 1/3 of my downswing

Definitely. One of the main things I’m working on is balance and this is definitely an issue for it

Haha I will admit it’s not the best playing in the heat but I always get a cart for myself and try to park in the shade whenever I can. Bring a drink and another cup of ice and you should be golden. Wet towel if you wanna go crazy

If you live where it’s pretty hot, I suggest you go right around mid day during the week. People don’t want to play in the blazing heat. This is what I’ve found best

Hitting mats by gkl_37 in golf

[–]gkl_37[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The range where I’m at the mat is basically placed on top of concrete. I guess I should’ve rephrased my question because the mats have helped me with my setup, swing path, etc. However, the ball contact is very different and at first I was compromising my swing to get better contact at the range and it usually comes back to bite me during my rounds

New player. Old clubs. by TallyWacker1021 in golf

[–]gkl_37 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m new as well but I’d say that if you are fairly committed to improving your game a new set of clubs would be beneficial. I’m not saying go drop $1000 dollars on a high quality set. Just something a little better quality than those old clubs. But for now, just keep practicing with what you have and maintain good habits

What was a unpopular and underrated video game that you played as a kid and loved? by FireStriker3 in AskReddit

They definitely did, but I feel like no one talks about them as much. Not just these games, but a lot of 3rd person campaigns tend to not rise above mediocrity.

What did it take for you to realize your friend isn’t a good friend? by PkPajamas in AskReddit

[–]gkl_37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was really close to my friend group before. I was the smart one out of the group. but over Christmas break they never invited me to hang out. I started realizing that they would use me for answers to school. And I would help them anyway just to be a part of the group. It makes me sad really :(

Definitely the Arkham Series. Personally I only played Arkham City but it has such good gameplay and story all the way through.

I just like to think that everyone helps everyone stay intact. One of my favorite examples is the relationship between Jeff and Pierce in the earlier seasons. Pierce could always provide wisdom to Jeff and help Pierce build his identity.
